Aebischer and Gerber wasn't bad. Also wasn't Huet swiss developed?

I don't see why it's that shocking to anybody.
Nooooooooooo you lie. Come on it's ridiculous that he wasn't drafted. A 7th round pick is nothing for a guy like this.

I think to many people have drafted him in NHL 11.

I'm going to love watching all these others goalie's be a draft bust (besides the odd 2 or 3), and watch them regret taking any other goalie. Even so i have no idea why a team like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, or even Winnipeg, looking for either a back up, or a strong AHL started that could start in the future. I see him as a kind of Cory Schneider goalie with the similar style and athletic ability, which is abundant.

I really cannot think of any theories as to why Benjamin Conz was not drafted, its really a shame to not see his talent leave his mark on the NHL, this year. If he posts the same or even better numbers this coming up year, we could see him drafted next year.. Although he will be 20.
Really? Must you used the word "********"? It couldn't be more ignorant.

It's ironic that you use that word, yet have a bunch of spelling mistakes. Maybe you should look in the mirror?

You made a generalization about smaller goaltenders what do you expect? I get the argument, but it was made pretty lazily which led to what just happened.

I think one day Conz will play in the NHL, he's definitely better than some of the garbage Philly has iced in the past 2 years. If they can do it, I'm sure he can.

With Khudobin going back to the KHL, hopefully Boston offers him a contract to be their 3rd.

Why can't he be Thomas? Didn't it take 15 years for Thomas to finally make the NHL?

I doubt size is the whole story, lack of athleticism or character flaws may add to the situation. I'm not saying it's true, just speculating here.

Honestly, the times I saw Conz at the WJC, he just didn't look like a potential NHL goalie despite the good performances. Didn't seem that quick and athletic for his size.

Also, I think he is eligible for at least one more year before he can be signed as an undrafted free agent.

Because clearly we at HFboards know so much more than the scouts who spend years and years looking at prospects and would know how to judge them. Damn those scouts and their lack of knowledge!

yea but Tim Thomas was drafted in 1994. By a team that no longer exists. 5'11 wasnt that bad in 1994. 5'11 is probably considered too small now in the NHL. You gotta be super good to be drafted as a goalie thats 5'11

2 more. Habs drafted a 21 year old Swede today and Conz is still 19.

So expect this thread in the next 2 years to pop up.

I think Conz might be pretty good, but there's simply no reason of draft him now. Any team who wants him, can sign him in the future.

And in addition to that, he might be a bit small for "modern" goaltending (and yes, i know this Tim Thomas guy).

Hes good enough to go in the 7th round.....Wasn't Mark Striet drafted at like 24 yrs old or something.

maybe he should sign with a team in finland, sweden or russia and if he does well there then maybe he's got more of chance of getting into the nhl quicker??
