I love that Bobrovsky picture. He looks happy to actually have someone ask him for a picture (I can't imagine he's had too many ask him for one in his career) and he's trying to look good for it too. Makes for a funny smile.

I like him. Doesnt seem like an ass or a stuck up Russian (this isnt me being racist here). He seems like he is truely happy to be here.
I saw somewhere online how several media members were trying to interview Bob, poor guy knew no English. He had to sit back in his locker. They did however, get a translator.

Yea if you go to philly.com, they have the interview there. Must be hard for him when you cant understand anyone around you, and they cant understand you. I do think he will take some English classes this year, especially if he lives up to his hype.
Ok Im calling this **** right now. This season, due to an injury to our starting goalie, Bob will start an NHL game for us. Long shot? yes. But Im calling it now.
That's Nic Riopel, very nice guy as well. He told me "I be star, you look" at the signing table and we laughed, for different reasons of course. I also played with him at Mini Golf and had no idea, it was before everything started.
Luukkos son and another prospect that I forget.
I don't know, Bobrovsky was doing weird poses the entire game.
No sadly, he made it clear to the staff that he didn't want to play. When they called his name to bat he just waved and shook his head and they moved on.

Poor guy. Gotta be scary as **** when you are in a place you don't understand ****.
I've always had the impression that Carter isn't very "fan-friendly". Maybe it's just me though.
He and Cote shared a table at the "Season Ticket-holders meet the Players" night (or whatever it's officially called) back in 2007-08. I went with my son. Carter and Cote were both quite friendly, but that was an event where it was expected he'd come into contact with fans. He was on "company time". All the players were pleasant that night except for Mike Richards, who looked like he had sucked a lemon prior to our arrival at his table, and Rory Fitzpatrick, who looked out of place.
EDIT: I agree that Carter seems less than fan-friendly, but I think Emery was the sourest of the bunch this past season. Early in the season, before he was injured, my wife (then my fiancee) got his autograph. You would think that, like Carter in my scenario above, he'd have put on his happy face for the fans.
Here are some pictures of me and a few people there at the Trial. Also Jeff Carter is sort of really mean.
Carter not being happy that I talked to him
I have too many pictures, every was kind though except Carter.
I had the same experience with Carter. A few years ago I went to the Flyers meet and greet. He was with Cote, I caught them with like 2 minutes left before the end of the event. They were packing up, I brought a Sharpie and got Cote's autograph. Really nice guy. A group of 5 or 6 ten year old kids comes up, and Cote asked if I could use the Sharpie for them. Of course I'm fine with it, but by the time he was done and got the Sharpie back, Carter's walking off with a guard. I yell to him, he turns around, looks at guard, shrugs and goes "Sorry" and walks off. He could have stopped, but he didn't. Left a lasting impression.
That's what you get. Usually the grinders/fighters are the nicest. Downie and Coburn were just downright cool guys. Knuble was with those two, quiet and awkward.
I'm surprised that no-one is saying the Carter was pissy because he was just informed he was going to be traded. Come on guys surely someone can start a rumor based on that picture.
Bobo seems like like a scared little dude. Hope he acclimates himself here well. I find myself really pulling for him. I like a humble tender.
Maybe Carter was hungover, or was just pissed there were no hot babes to hit on or something. But one thing's for sure, his tan looks like it's ready for an episode of Jersey Shore.
I didn't hear the bike distance, but Kayak was 1.5 miles and run was 4.1...
assuming the bike portion was somewhere in the neighberhood of 10 miles then a time of 48 minutes is **** impressive.
running 4.1 miles would take an incredibly well conditioned athlete an average of 20-25 minutes, biking 10 miles would take them 10-15 minutes and I can't speak much for kayaking, but I would have to assume that 1.5 miles in 8-18 minutes would probably be very hard.
There's no way someone could bike 10 miles in 10-15 minutes...have you ever seen a bicycle go 40+ miles per hour? That time is still very impressive, nonetheless.
