4th generation NHLer?

Has there ever been a 4th generation NHL player? I have to ask this with Blake Geoffrion signing with the Preds he has a huge bloodline behind him; Howie Morenz, Boom-Boom Geoffrion, Dan Geoffrion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ons_in_the_NHL

Based on this, and it is only Wikipedia. the closest any family got is this

Sid/Gerry Able--->Bob Johnson------>Brent Johnson.

The Morenz/Geoffrion family tree is looking like this

Howie-----> Boom-Boom Geoffrion (Son in law)-------> Dan Geoffrion (Blake's father)--------> Blake Geoffrion

I wondered with the NHL's deep familiar roots there would be someone else who could claim this as well so I figured that I would ask you guys.

I thought Dan was Blake's uncle. Still great bloodlines though.

Son of Dan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blake_Geoffrion

Per interviews and wiki.

EDIT: As for the uncle, that would be Hartland Monahan, Dan's Brother-in-law

The Hextalls: 3 Generations, 4 NHL'ers.

from Ron Hextall's wiki entry...
Quote:
He is the grandson of Hall-of-Famer Bryan Hextall, the son of former NHL player Bryan Hextall Jr. and nephew of former NHL player Dennis Hextall.
and furthermore...
Quote:
Hextall's son, center Brett Hextall was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.[4] With that selection, the Hextalls have a chance to become the first family to have four generations play in the NHL

James Patrick is not part of that family. Craig and Glenn Patrick are Lynn's sons.

Well, Blake has already gotten ice time with the Preds in exhibition games so this might be out of the window. I'm just amazed at how many families fill the NHL over the years.

Wikipedia has an article devoted to things like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ons_in_the_NHL

And since its relevant to the topic, I'm pretty sure the Patricks were the first father-son combo to play in the NHL, on account of Lester's 46 minutes as a Ranger goalie. If there is somebody earlier, it would be interesting hearing about it.

I wonder, seeing that the Geoffrions are related to Monahans are they related to Gary Monahan? First ever NHL draft choice
