Why not? Buffalo brings a good crowd, and it will be exciting.

Because they aren't in our conference and usually when you end a season you'd prefer to be playing teams in your own conference that you actually play more than once a year

Buffalo will get a nice tuneup before they start the playoffs and we start golfing. That's probably why.

Yeah, and a ton of Tuesday home games that draw 13000. 17 sets of back to backs. Chicago and their bandwagon as our home opener.

But, I love the NYE game.

Things I noted while going through the schedule
- Home and Home with Detroit on November 26, and November 28
- December 4 at home against Pittsburgh. These recent Penguins v. Blue Jackets games in Columbus have been very successful. If it weren't for being in different conferences this would easily develop into a rivalry.
- They're playing 11 games in January, 8 of them on the road.
- they have 3 road trips of 4 games. Their longest home stand is 3 games.
- their last game against Detroit is on March 17th. This is contrary to the recent trend of leaving 2 or 3 games against the same divisional opponent until the last week.
- that's a lot of midweek home games.
- ending the season with Buffalo? Por que?

Inter-conference home & homes against Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Florida, it appears.

By my count there are 7 Sat. games-7 Fri. games-0 Sunday games.

5 Tues. games-is that a ton?

18 BTB if you count the SJS games in Sweden (and I don't know why you wouldn't).

I am sure it makes some extra $$$$$, but god parking is such a effing hassle on the weekend games during the Arnold Classic.

Oh, I want to see if I can get a family gathering going 'round then. I might finally be able to get my parents addicted once and for all. (Olympics planted the seed, but it's going to take continued preaching for them to truly be converted.)

The Jackets aren't at home during the Arnold Classic (it runs March 4-6).

I really wish they were playing further down in Europe and not in Sweden in October

Can't wait until March 27th. I maybe going to Columbus for the very first time to catch the game. Some of the guys and possibly girls(some of the guys wants it to be a guys trip only) are willing to go to Columbus to see their team(Nucks) play. Hopefully the trip pans out.

So, more travel and more back to backs this season. Last season, conditioning seemed to be a problem (depending on whom you asked). Let's hope things improve, or it could be an even bigger factor.

I'll be going to about 5 games as usual again. Dec. 4th (Penguins) is the main game I'll be attending, and finally thank god for putting it on a saturday. The past two years I've had to call off work for it.
