Backup plans....

Ok, so lets start throwin out some names and ideas of what could be done and how it could be done for a first line center if Nedved can't be signed - some people kinda started with the Lindros, Bonk and Allison posts - but what other guys are there out there? Would a Brind'Amour work? What about Lang - would that be possible? And is Nedved even the guy that we want back the most? What do you guys think? I think that Nedved IS the guy we want the most - as he seems well suited to our team and to playing with Radek. After that I think Lindros would be interesting on our team - because when he's been healthy, he's still been a great player.

I wouldn't mind Nylander personally. Of course Nedved is number 1 on my list though. I really hope he is back next year

I like Nedved, just because he has proven that he could be successful and produce here. we can risk losing him, and then bring in another player who might not adapt to our system, leaving us with a case of the Dopita Oates virus. I think if we can sign Nedved then sign him, and let him help Hemsky round out his game.

Lindros is an intriguing possibility if he can stay healthy, but it would have to be an insentive based contract with some concussion clause.

Rolston and Nylander both might work, but once again, Id stick to Nedved.

Nedved seems like the best option to me. Conroy seems destined to stay in Calgary, Zhamnov has played really well in Philly and Rolston won't play in Canada. Hopefully Lowe makes a long-term deal soon..

Since they aren't up here already, Weiss is Florida has some nice things in his game, and although Jeff Taffe hasn't shown it yet he looks like a quality player every time I see him.

If we're talking veteran ufa's, I've always like Brian Rolston although B's fans swear he's much better on the wing.

I think Nylander could be a very interesting pick, and affordable.

Rolston can play all three forward positions.

I know this is a foreign idea to some..

But how about Mike York?

he's not a first line centre... and in an ideal world he shouldn't play centre at all. 44% on the draws is a good way to make sure your line doesn't have the puck.
