Aucoin resigned (2 years, 4 million)

Just heard on Xtra 910 that Aucoin has been resigned for 2 years. Link will be posted as soon as it's up on the Coyotes site.

Sergey Kocharov, the PR guy has also tweeted this out to his followers:
http://twitter.com/SergeyCoyotesPR

(UPDATE
2 years, 4 million (1.8 + 2.2)

I would have preferred one year. If it's a bargain price the second year, I can live with it.

I'm going to go ahead and guess it's a bargain price for both years.

Wonder if he has a NTC now? Still an important piece to our team.

Even tho their different types of players I have to believe this is the end of Z. Just a shear numbers game. We have a 7th man in Lepisto that should move into a legit #6. How do you plug even 1 rookie in at #7?
jovo, aucoin, yandle, lepisto, vandermeer, sauer?, rookie, your not getting Mo & Z

I wouldn't be so sure that Sauer or Vandermeer are in the plans. I would be shocked if DMo isn't re-signed. I am starting to accept all the bad vibes about Z.

I'm going to guess it's pretty close to what he made last year for each. Was that $2 mill? Might be a bit under that, like Bertuzzi's deal.

TSN indicating 2 years and $4 million

1st year - $1.8 Million
2nd year - $2.2 Million

slight haircut but guaranteed money (and cap hit) for a veteran who played very well in Phoenix.

Great signing. Glad to have a reliable veteran locked up for another two years.

I think Sauer is done.

Not sure how you could move Vandermeer but I'm all ears. I think he'd be a good guy to have around if not for his salary.

GMDM sure likes to have depth. Can't have too many D'men 'cause there will be injuries. If DM can sign Lombo and Stepniak, we will have some goalscoring depth for a change as well. The Yotes will be a solid playoff bound team again. There's also going to be some prospects that will make the team this year too. It's so much fun being a Coyotes fan these days.

It's good to see "The Closer" stay in Phoenix.

Aucoin was re-signed because he was a key contributor to the success of last season. Furthermore, the notion that we can be successful with as many as 3 rookie d men (OEL, Goncharov, and Summers) is a little far-fetched regardless of their talent level. Aucoin offers us experience, leadership, character, and a lethal finishing move in the shootout.

My thoughts exactly. He did great for us last year and fit perfectly.

Sauer, unfortunately, is most likely done. His head trauma and post concussion syndrome seems to be just too severe for him to consider resuming his career.

Do we precisely know the moment in which he sustained this injury?

Early on. He has a chronic problem with one of his ears, if I remember right, from some concussion that happened before. It might be livable day to day but as an athlete you can't really function at a high level.

When he was with Colorado. He re-injured it the first game of the season.
