I was looking at this and I didn't expand at first, my bad. Also he would have to waive his NTC, which may be asticking point.

It just sounds too good. Doesn't happen like that for the CBJ.

Pretty much this.

I wonder if we leaked this to try to get a trade done for Spezza or someone else?

This trade even without the 15th coming back makes our team a playoff team. We need a trade like this to even think about playing with the rest of the central.

Id give away Commodore and Juice for peanuts to get rid of some cap if this deal went down.

Something I am curious about is Savard just signed a contract which kicks in July 1st it includes a NTC so does that mean he can be traded up until July 1st? Because that would be pretty ****** of Boston, but I love the idea lol.

Yeah, this makes me like the trade less. He is 33 and signed for 7 more years. I think we can do better with the #4 pick. I would rather give up more for a player like Spezza. Boston would have to add the #15 and maybe even more. Wheeler isn't signed and Savard is 33. That isn't exactly the return I want for the #4 pick.

I would have to think that we add something else. Maybe rights to Boll? Mayorov?

Sounds like someone in the Bruins organization, possibly in accounting, likes us and is throwing us a rumor bone to get us excited for a while.

Holy famoley - What in the Wide World of Sports is'a goin' on here?

This sounds too good to be true. Is Savard going to waive his NTC to come here? I doubt it, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I hope he doesn't. He is 33, signed till he is 40, and is coming off a major concussion. This went from a maybe to a NO for me after I thought about it. We can get a WAY better deal than this for the #4, IMO.

Definitely a fun rumour. I normally don't pay any attention to these, but giving up just the fourth for those two and the B's own pick would be quite good.

Savard feeding Nash? Oh yes please. That, and I have a mancrush on Wheeler. I had him two years ago in one of my pools and he was fantastic. Play him with Sammy and RJ.

Huselius - Savard - Nash
Vermette - Brassard - Voracek
Umberger - Pahlsson - Wheeler
Dorsett - Murray - Clark
Boll

Filatov and even the 15th overall can then be used to grab a dman maybe.

I think the trade would be a big mistake and we would regret it in 2 years. Savard is old and coming off a major concussion. Sure, he is very good, but I don't like this trade at all. The last thing this team needs to do, IMO, is trade a potential cornerstone of the franchise for a 33 year old C. No matter how good he is. Why don't we just trade more for Spezza or sign Marleau. I would rather take my chances with those 2.

I think the key is getting the 15th overall pick along with those guys. There are some very good players at 15, guys who are still potential cornerstones. Savard is in his prime (near the end of it, mind you) but for a team that needs to win now, this move makes sense. When Savard starts to hit the downside of his career, we still have Brass and potentially a centre drafted at 15 waiting in the wings.

Savard+Wheeler+15th Overall for the 4th Overall?

I think that writer has been drinking. That's an insane amount to give up. However, it's on the internet, so if it doesn't happen, I'm complaining about the ownership.
I'd do it in a hearbeat. Extremely unlikely this is anything legit..... and as much as i would like the possibility of drafting a franchise d-man with that pick, knowing the CBJ, that is very unlikely it'll happen =(

Filatov - Savard - Nash
Vermette - Brassard - Voracek
Umberger - Pahlsson - Wheeler
Dorsett - Murray - Clark
Blunden/Boll

Get rid of Huselius+Maybe #55 or #34 for Souray?

Souray-Tyutin
Hejda-Klesla
Russell-Commodore
Methot/Clitsome/Stralman???

Or Huselius+#15 for Kaberle, or #55 and Brassard for Kabs?
Maybe lower the pick and make it conditional on signing?

Either way that logjam would need to be fixed.

Ah whatever it's all wishfull thinking that wont ever happen anyways

Won't happen but here's where we ask the hockey gods to insert Krejci for Savard

That is the ONLY way I would do the deal. I know some don't agree with me, but I have no interest in a 33 year old C, coming off a concussion, who is signed for 7 more years.

I'd rather have a 19 year old D-man than a 33 year old center. Yes Gudbranson/Fowler would not make a impact immediately. But we can acquire a younger center that could do the job, he would be worse but I'd rather have the 4th pick.

Only way I would like this is if we move up from 15 to 5/6 spot. That would be a waste though considering we'd have to give up brassard or filatov+

Savard has 3-4 good years left in him, at least. Do you think the Jackets are going nowhere the next 3 years and that's why we don't need him?

this, except I'd rather give away huselius and commodore for scraps to relieve cap to get marleau.
