Yes because Larry Robinson as an assistant would totally bring us to the cup, I mean, assistant coaches make all the difference
I actually think it would be good to of had an experienced former all time great defensemen to work with our young D, well Subban maybe but would be good for O'B as well. Since Pearn didn't leave there's nothing that can be done, but still would have been interesting. A Boucher-Robinson combo would have been fun to see.
Robinson doesn't really need the hassle. I'm happy for him that he ended up in New Jersey, anyway. The Habs haven't seemed to think that they need a dedicated defenseman-coach in recent years. Pearn is more of an overall systems guy without the firsthand experience with D, I believe. And that's already the closest we've had. It didn't look like as much of a vacuum last season as it did in previous seasons.
But the rumours of PG being very uncommunicative seem well-founded so far.
Who did you want him to replace? Jacques Martin, Kirk Muller or Perry Pearn? All three did a fine job last year and fully deserve to be back.
It seems like every time someone gets hired somewhere in the NHL, people here complain we should have gotten him, even though our staff is full and doing well. We can't have 10 GMs and 20 coaches people.
