Cautiously optimistic. He is the type of player Ive wanted in the habs talent pool for a while. A Scandinavian, offensive centerman.

Like others have said... Going to the net will not be a problem with this kid, take note Pleks.

Notice how his goals seem to work in any league. I think he'll be able to translate his game pretty easily to the NHL level. The only thing I question is his upside. He's probably close to a guaranteed 3rd/2nd liner in the future, but can he take his game to the next level (ie. 1st line)?
thanks, awsome vid

Great vid, huge props to Watsatheo as always.

I've had my eyes on Eller for a few years already and I'm really psyched to have him in Montreal. He says his favorite player is Daniel Alfredsson and it shows: good physical assets, great hands, not scared to go in the dirty areas. His shot seems good, especially his slapper.

He seems to have a dirty little one-timer too, I'm sure Cammy and Lars will have some one-timer competitions.

Fixed here. Plek role is playmaking, not stand in front of the net.

Awesome vidéo! Great hand, he's willing to go to the net! Great package.

Shades of Forsberg in some of those goals.

He also has good positioning in front of the net.

I don't remember seeing a forward play the point on the powerplay at montreal... If somone could name one would be good but i have no idea of that happening. Would be cool though instead of having Gorges (With all respect to him) on PP

Great video...hope he can live up to the hype....if you thought Price had pressure...this kid has some now as well. This looks like a Halak for Eller trade.

great looking video! Like what I saw

One thing that I don't think I've seen talked about is Eller faceoff %?
Anyone know how he does?

I think I remember Koivu playing the point some years ago, but that would have been only a couple of times, and in 5-on-3 situations.

Pierre Gauthier clearly stated the other one wasn't tossed in for fun.

While I do agree with you that Pouliot needs to learn this too, I think your cutting Plekanec too much slack. Not sure if your aware, but Eller is also known for his playmaking and not his net presence.

If Pleks was willing to go to the dirty areas (the crease and the boards) he would be one of the best centers in the league, unfortunately he doesn't play efficiently in these areas.

I don't know his faceoff #s in the AHL but in the SEL he was just over 52% iirc.

Well I was trying to be polite about it...

He is a top notch stick checker, but the second it gets physical he loses far more battles then he wins... It's unacceptable that guys like Gionta and Cammalleri win more battles despite being 15-20lbs lighter and 2-3" shoter then him.

Sergei did well two years ago. What a waste of talent/mismanagement
