So with Arnott and Hamhuis out of the picture WTF does poile plan on doing next? Saving the money for future contracts for weber/suter? How about signing a top 6 forward for some MUCH MUCH needed scoring help? Either way i'm still on the edge of my seat trying to decode poiles string of trades. Any thoughts or comments are open.............
I would rather make a move for Horton or Carter. Spezza is already at such a high salary that I would pass.....
I think one of the two has a very good chance of being in Nashville. The Blackhawk issue would typically be a perfect fit for the Predators, but we are in teh same division. I wouldn't be surprised to see a three way deal with us involved, though.
If Dumont were to be moved I could honestly see both Buff and Sharp going to Chicago. And like I said before. Chicago is in Cap hell trying to dig itself out with a plastic spoon. They will take help anywhere they can get it.
If you move out Dumont (consistent point getter) and have already moved out Arnott, you had better hope for some more offensive help.
Dumont was on the third and fourth line for the last half of the season. He should be moved irregardless of the Arnott situation.
The Predators are still looking at a Hornqvist - Wilson - Sullivan, Erat - Legwand - Ward top two lines at this point. This isn't great, and we need an upgrade. However, I don't see Dumont cracking the top two lines next year regardless.....Trotz has already stated as much at this point.

Possibly. I mean that is how you guys got Sully, isn't it? From Chicago?

And Dumont has been loyal to the team. Hell, HE might be more of a captain than Arnott.
YES! he would be the most dangerous on our team..he's a smart two way player with a potent shot and look at his PP goals....I like horton but hes not pred material.....
Horton is the target I believe. I would guess Franson and Dumont are included in the package.
Starting D next year:
Weber-Suter
Cube-Klien
Parent-Sulzer
Josi arrives in 20 games to replace Sulzer.
I don't think we need another center-- use Legwand, Wilson, O'Reilly and Goc with Smithson and Spaling as spares.
I agree we dont need another center, we need a winger that can snipe and be pretty good defensively. Poile doesnt like players that dont play D at all.

Plekanec is only 27 to. Right in his prime. Nathan Horton is only 25 and he gets 60+ points a season. I wouldnt mind either especially with the offense we have......Im pretty excited to see a new team
Part of me says we don't need another center, part of me says I'm not quite ready to be in a situation where Wilson has to perform as a top line center after his deer-in-headlights performance in the playoffs. Yes, played nicely in spots down the stretch and yes, he's a big part of our future. Still - unless we know we got a healthy and productive Sully to take some pressure off him I don't like the idea of Horny/Wilson/Sully and Erat/Leggy/Ward or Dumont.
Suppose I'm ok if we don't get another center, but then I think we have to have a true offensive presence on that line in place of Sully, which also lets us move Ward to Goc's line.
