Yes and no... Eklund deserves some respect on this one due to his proximity to the Flyers organization.

The fans like Leighton? Speak for yourself

Can't say I hate the guy, but I don't love him either.

Eklund has been hot lately (possibly the first time ever), but McKenzie is pretty much the Bible of hockey rumors.

EDIT: You also have to remember that Eklund/Timmy are only getting Philly's side.

Wake me on June 29. Until then, it's all posturing.

About Biron?

We had Emery agreed to a deal in June (frankly, I think that deal was agreed to in principle well before then), and signed Boucher on July 1st.

Not going to lie, I'm worried. It's time like these where I see Holmgren throwing every offer he can at him. Which is bad for us.

Starting to hear whispers the Flyers may trade his neg rights to Canucks. Checking.
Edit: Now Seravalli says his source is saying they are not trading his neg rights and are trying to get him signed.

It was my understanding that the Flyers went after Emery when Biron's agent gave Homer a ridiculous number. Shortly after Emery and Boosh were brought on board, Biron fired his agent.

EDIT: Of course, that "ridiculous number" could have been given to Homer at any point during the 2008-09 season.

Sad but true... Garcia benefitted from a West Coast offense and he just clicked... that is until the Saints took the short game away from him.

Leighton benefitted from a great defense and he just clicked... that is until the Flyers played a team with scoring depth.

Well the Emery situation played out prior to even the playoffs being over... pretty sure about that. And then we signed Boucher right away. So, there was no moment where we let Biron go test the market and see what numbers he could get.

Pretty convinced Holmgren had decided to move on from Biron during the season and the only thing that might have changed his mind was a playoff run.

I'd imagine a pick, but if we could add to it to get Schneider I wouldn't be opposed.

It would be amusing if it was for Schneider somehow...

Parent for Schneider has been proposed a million times

I'm hearing like every conflicting report possible and they're all from reputable figures so I have no ****ing idea what to think right now.

I guess I'll just have to wait till July 1st.

Plus, how about that 7th rounder.

Hamhuis and Boucher for Schneider, then the Flyers sign another goalie to split time with him?

Hamhuis' rights at this point are borderline worthless.

If we re-trade Hamhuis, I could see the Preds crying foul... It makes logical sense that we would still get the 7th (for Parent), but at the same time re-gifting negotiating rights seems a bit shady to me.

Perhaps they should've let Homer talk to Hammy first. If they did - and talks fell through, they would still be shopping his rights instead of Philly.
