a 2nd rounder and a mid tier prospect/player would be a steal for Toronto

Courious to see to which team personally I would rather him stay in the East to be honest.. Again if its serious is it more then draft picks per say?

Considering Kaberle's cap friendly salary, I will expect alot of interest

Finally an end is visible ...at which time Kaberle's value will go up significantly ...either that, or it will stay the same, or it will go down.

...and Leafs fans will start pointing out the flaws the way a used car salesman laughs with a co-worker as the new owner pulls away from the lot.

As long as the new owner is happy though, does it even matter?

I dont agree considering what was given up for Hamius. I would expect the offer to be similar if not better. Sure Hamius is younger but Kaberle is the better D right now and at least signed.

What player will take over the trade board threads once he's moved?

I have to agree here, plus imagine what Kaberle could fetch at the deadline, a king's ransom imo and Burke isn't naive about Kabs value.

Burke will end up trading Kaberle to himself for Kaberle and a conditional pick after no team gives him what he feels is a decent offer.

Lol, yet that's basically what Toronto got for 4 months of Ponikarovsky. (They were offered a second, and Martin Skoula, and Burke had to negotiate for a while to change the second to Caputi.)

My guess is the deal will be something like this:

To TOR:
David Clarkson
Jacob Josefson

To NJ:
Thomas Kaberle
Juraj Mikus

Josefson could be substituted for a first round pick or a combination of mid-rounders; but Burkie's stated he wants prospects who are closer to the NHL and Josefson has an extra year in the SEL under his belt.

Why would you want him to stay in the East?

Excited and nervous to see where he goes and for what. Relieved that all this talk about him will end also. Hopefully the return is fair.
