A few Boston moves at the draft

The Bruins have a ton of picks and good players that can be used with optimal trade partners to instantly rebuild into a perennial contender:

To Florida
Wheeler
Wideman
32nd overall
45th overall

To Boston
Horton
3rd overall

Florida adds 2 young quality players that will add to their depth and will make them a playoff team.

---

To Columbus
Savard
Chara

To Boston
4th overall
Filatov
Voracek
Tyutin

Columbus instantly turns into a playoff team

---

To Tampa Bay
Bergeron
Stuart
Thomas
15th overall

To Boston
6th overall
Lecavalier
Smith

TB adds a 2nd line center with a much lower cap hit, a solid defensice defenseman and a #1 goalie while they develop one of their own
---

Boston then drafts Seguin, Fowler, Gormley, and Niederreiter which leaves them with this team:

Seguin-Lecavalier-Horton
Filatov-Krejci-Voracek
Lucic-Colborne-Niederreiter
Sturm-Sobotka-Recchi

Fowler-Seidenberg
Gormley-Boychuk
Ference-Tyutin

Rask
Smith

That's a team that will contend for the cup for many years.

Keep on dreaming

The Tampa offer is the most realistic .. the other 2 are simply crazy

That would work great in a fantasy league. Sadly, the NHL is not a fantasy league.

3rd overall from Florida isn't likely considering that package.

None of the teams involved will do those trades. Except Boston.

people are funny

that defence is brutal.. sure it won`t be in 5 years perhaps, but this would surely never happen

i didn`t bother trying to access the value of the trades

you must REALLY love this draft to want to have all those top picks in place of proven NHL players that are great right now

The acid is good here in Boston.

Jack...what are you smoking? I really want some of that stuff.

Good luck with that. I highly doubt Florida, possibly the team with the biggest lack of quality players in the league, trades quality for quantity. Second, where does Columbus get the money for that and why does Boston trade the center that just took a paycut to resign there? The Tampa one probably makes them a better team though. Gets them out of Vinny's salary and replaces him with a great 2nd line center and gives them a starter.

JE, your fantasy world is much more elaborate than I ever would have guessed.

That defense is pretty rough. How the heck would Tyutin be a 3rd pairing D. At worst he'd be 1A/1B with Seidenberg, and I think I'm being generous to Seidenberg when I say that.

Well it is one quick rebuild that is for sure.

With Boston coming one goal away fom the Conf. finals I don't see them blowing up the team.

Good effort on the moves though.

I wouldn't mind the Rangers trading for Wheeler if the price is right.

I am not sure I would trade the 3rd overall pick for that package from Boston, much less add Horton to the fold.

In General if you take the draft picks from other teams going to Boston, then the moves might make more sense.

Believe me, you can have him. I despise the guy as a player.

About what I'd expect from Jack Edwards, one of the worst broadcasters in the NHL.

np. I was in europe for most of the playoffs so I was hoping that losing in game 7 was really just a really bad dream brought on by watching too many games after 1am.

highly doubt that columbus statement is true, the only thing that instantly makes them is older

and great idea Jack, lets just trade away the whole team that came a game away from the conference finals for a roster that features more unproven talent than the providence bruins
