Is October 9th a little late? or is it just because last year there was an early start because of the Olympics and the year before we played in Europe?

Gotta feel bad for the fans Upstate in Utica and Albany that are stuck with the Sabre feed on MSG to start out the season. ****ing morons.

Rick Jeanneret is god awful.

Yay another Friday home opener... I love when it falls on a night that's conducive to staying out late and going out afterwards... Haven't missed a home opener at MSG since the lock-out.... 4-0....

Au contraire. The Sabres will be raising to the rafters their Northeast Division Champions banner.

That's fine, get the road games out of the way. Hopefully this year's version of the Rangers can play at home though.

Wait till next year. With The Garden renovations underway, the Rangers will probably spend the first three weeks of the season on the road.

Can't wait to see the whole schedule. I swear if we get back-to-backs with philly at the end of the year again

You better be going again or you'll probably get run off these boards.

Games at MSG on Friday are extremely rare. It's normally first or last game of season. Dont know why the Knicks get all the Friday home games.

Edit: Looks like 4 friday home games this year

I noticed this too, and did a quick count. 2009-2010 NYR had 5 home games on a Friday night, Saturday, or Saturday Night. In 2010-2011, it is again 5. The Devils had 18 last season and 18 again this season, the Islanders 16 and 18.

.....

Only reasoning I can come up with is that the NHL does this figuring that the NYR gets the attendance regardless of the day while those two teams need those dates for attendance. Regardless the Rangers have something like 10 home games on a Sunday or Sunday night this year.

Do you think they'll announce the players individually this year? IIRC they didn't do that last season..... Anxious to be at MSG and watch them call out MZA and see the little guy go skating out onto the Garden ice for the first time to applause....
