We might as well get those games out of the way early.

If Panthers don't go 0-3 after that, it's a "Panther victory". And that's pretty sad. Well that dampens the opening season spirits.

This is garbage. Its so much harder to get tickets when they are home openers. Normally its not too hard to get Oilers or Flames tickets if they are playing Florida, but not if its the first game of the year.

Damn, sorry man... we didn't mean to ruin your ticket buying experience. You may actually have to apply effort here, eh?

Edmonton and Calgary suck, so it won't be too bad.

Yahhhh! No rushing to the game this year in a blizzard with a half full arena. Ahhh, snow will probably be on the ground by October.

When your team comes to town once every 2 years and there is a chance you might have to watch it from home, you'd be upset too.

Flames and Oilers have had lotteries in the past to buy tickets to games like the opener because they are in such demand.

It's official. Tallon will trade Horton along with others for the 2nd pick to get Seguin.
First game of the season will be the showdown of Hall vs. Seguin.

..........and then I woke up.............

The good thing about starting in western canada is these teams usually take a while to get fired up especially calgary which is notorious for its slow starts. The big test will be vancouver.

The good news is we open against Edmonton. The bad news is we open on the road.

Not to be realistic or anything but, didn't we finish in between these two teams that suck?

So they just moved our old pre-season schedule into the regular season then? Well, I think we should beat Edmonton at the very least. Then we might as well stick it to Bouw & Louie while we're at it.

I was pretty damn surprised that we'd be starting the season in Western Canada, but yeah it's probably better to get it over with early and not during the winter. I'd expect a win in Edmonton since it won't be their home opener. I wonder if that means that they're playing back to back games? Calgary could be a toss-up. Vancouver's going to be the real toughie, but as always entertaining against Mr. Roberto.

i'm ok with this. western road trips are known for a) helping teams gel by spending time with one another and b) being tiring.

good chance for them to come together as a team, they'll be forced to spend time with each other early on and hopefully develop some team chemistry that will carry on into the rest of the season. also they won't have the "it's a tiring western roadtrip" excuse since it's the first games of the season.

We suck too, but we are more likely to beat other crappy teams than good teams.

we cant really speculate if we're going to win or lose yet though, so I suggest you stop being so negative!
atm, we have the same roster as last season with a couple of additions that probably wont make the team this year. there will be trades for sure, there will be FA signings and hopefully a new prospect or two that will be ready to step in to the lineup this fall and rock our world.
