Boston-StL

Not my trade idea, so please don't blame me. But rate this deal:

To StL- Patrice Bergeron and Michael Ryder
To Bos- Erik Johnson

A) Fair, let's get it done.
B) Fair, but doesn't address team needs.
C) Boston says no way.
D) St.Louis laughs and hangs up.

As a Blues fan, I really like Bergeron, but this is an absolute D.

Erik Johnson is a life long blue unless he states intentions to go somewhere else.

Bergeron + Ryder + 2nd overall is a lot closer. But Johnson is the type of franchise defenseman you will be hard pressed to replace. Without a top 3 overall pick(not this year, think Larsson next year)

D by a mile. EJ's best is yet to be seen... and I think he can be a Pronger type difference maker once he hits his prime.

Don't apologize to me. I agree with the consensus. The trade wasn't my idea.

I just don't see StL trading EJ at all. For anything.

How a C? Boston would have Hall/Seguin, Johnson, and Rask. That would be an amazing building block for a team. Realistically this is a D all the way.

The 15th could be changed to the #2 overall, and it would probably still be an upper "D" at best. Johnson isnt getting moved without some bigtime players coming back...Bergeron and colburne are not bigtime players.

The Blues will not trade Erik Johnson unless Crosby or Ovechkin are involved. It's really that simple. The Blues front office touts Erik Johnson in that company, given he was taken 1st overall. There is no way the Blues trade him for anything less than that unless he asks to leave St. Louis, which has never even been remotely indicated anywhere.

I'd like to make up option E: Boston isn't stupid enough to offer it ad get laughed at.

Would never give Bergeron up for Johnson. We have one of the best Defences in the NHL. Best PK.. And are set on D... we don't need another.

Edit: I mean Bergeron in a package.

If you thought D why did you bother posting the proposal? Just trying to prove an already obvious point to some delusional poster? I hate these threads, waste of space.

May have changed near the end but I am sure BOS had at least 90 per cent of the season as number one. Also, we had the least goals for in the NHL and made it to sixth in the east. That's a shutdown.

agreed, we aren't going to snatch Johnson with that sort of package, which is why I want Chiarelli to offersheet Johnson with a 15 year contract.

We'll match, and then we'll just offer sheet Hall/Seguin the first time they are up for RFA. Don't F with us.
