Nope.

And we only won consecutive games 8 times.

Nope. They did have 7 (I could be off) two game win streaks ..... lol

Last 3 game streak was actually a 5 game streak in 2009.

Started with started with a 4-1 win over Florida on 1/21/09 (the 2nd game after Tip was forced to play Richie on the point). Then:

Tue Jan 27, 2009 - ATL (0) - DAL (2)
Jan 29, 2009 - DAL (4) - DET (2)
Sat Jan 31, 2009 - DAL (7) - CBJ (3)
Tue Feb 3, 2009 - CGY (1) - DAL (3)

They actually had 10 wins in 13 games (Richards played 12 of those on the point). He broke his wrist in the 12th game agaisnt CBJ, they beat EDM the next game in the 13th of that stretch, and then they went on a 5 game losing streak.

Shootout in Helsinki, meaning the win doesn't count or something.

Mike Ribeiro has shaved a star into the back of his hair
That's.... um.... uh, help me out with an adjective here ... fun?

Also, pretty smart. You can't trade him now, he'd have to get a haircut. That's just mean.

well the Sharks get underway now, the first of the Pacific division teams to play. I don't think they should lose to Columbus, but I believe that this will be the start of a very different year than Sharks fans are used to.

Two years ago they dominated teams with great possession. Last season they barely outshot teams at all and didn't control play to nearly the same extent but got by due to a great first line and vezina calibur goaltending (in the regular season atleast). Now the vezina calibur goaltender is gone and they've split up the first line.

Should be interesting to see how they adapt

Heatley, Marleau, and Thornton are all starting on different lines this year.

Steve Mason will never live up to what he was in his rookie year. Awful stuff early.

Sharks showing Dallas-esque defense.

Could a player like Ribeiro survive even 10 years ago in this league?

As crazy as it sounds, the Stars might have a better overall blue-line, though Boyle skews things a bit in the Sharks favor.

San Jose's defense is just as bad as I thought it might be. They got some big problems.

also: note for Dallas - shoot high on Niemi. All the time every time. The guy only covers the bottom half of the net.

I could be misremembering, but wasn't that something the commentators harped on during the SCF? Or maybe it was something Leighton was doing to get beat over and over.

I think Leighton's problem was his porn-star five-hole, i.e. the Stanley clinching goal

And "shoot high" can be used to describe many of the goaltenders in this league, including Lehtonen.

When I hear about a line like Parise-Zajac-Kovalchuk I think, hey, that's a line that could use a little more Krys Barch.
