Ugh.

It better be 2-way and/or really cheap. He's soft as butter, non-physical and tries to do too much often.

... Hopefully it's not in the NHL. The guy is a terrible hockey player.

Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier announced Tuesday the signing of forward Mathieu Darche to a one-year contract (2010-11). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed
How can financial argeement be not disclosed in the salary cap era ?

Oh well.

Maybe it's a depth thing. Or maybe they don't intend to keep Moore.

If only we could have merged both threads with the better-spelled topic

Is this PR move + he deserved it for his hard work even though it was obvious he was too slow for the NHL?

13th forward not bad, he's a good locker room guy who won't complain when he's bench

I'm happy with that signing. He's alright on the 4th line, you know he's gonna give his 100% every night.

Don't forget he had 10 points in 30 games this year. Not bad for a grinder.

Well, I didn't really want to see him back. So hopefully it's just a depth signing for Hamilton, and an injury replacement call-up.

Probably has nothing to do with the decision to be made about Moore... Darche is a lw, Moore a center.

You need to fill your 4th line with dirt cheap contracts like this, and he's a good veteran presence.

OK, but eventually when we will do the capgeek thing, it's gonna appear somewhere.

It seems like these days everybody knows the cap figure of every player and every teams.

It doesn't make much sense unless they are hiding the 2-way thing.

the guy is exemplary.
he plays bigger than he actually can. good for him.
he's cheap and doesn't mind sitting. perfect 13th forward.

One-way @ $550,000 is not that bad. At that price, I'm sure management still won't have an issue sending him to Hamilton if other players become more valuable. If he stays up, he's a serviceable 4th liner/13th forward.

He's absolutely awful. He keeps forgetting he is what he is: a grinder. I just cringe every single time I see him cross the blueline, and then, take the complicated, low-percentage option instead of just keep pushing and "dump-and-chase"'ing. He's a liability in the defensive end of the ice. I hope to god they don't intend to give him an NHL spot. One more season of Darche and Pyatt being used as journeymen top-sixers, and we might not even watch hockey next spring.
