Impossible

Markov, Subban, Hamrlik, Spacek, Gill, Gorges and O'Byrne are all under contract with the likes of Carle or Weber being possible recall.

Even if we were someone able to trade, say, Hammer or Spacek, having MAB is still irrelevant.

Forget about it. I'd give a chance to Weber.

His only asset is his shot for the powerplay, but with Subban being full time NHL next and most likely going to be on the first PP unit with Markov, MAB is 99.9% not being resigned.

This thread is a sick joke, and should be closed. Are we going to joke about the oil spill next?

What shot? He never used it unless it was on a 5 on 3 and even then it was rare to see.

even if we do sign him (god i hope not) theres NO WAY he gets 3.5 / 2 years.. he had basically the same stats as the year before when he was in Minnesota, and he was unsigned until the beginning of last season...

LOL 3.5 mil!! That's funny stuff.
I don't deny there's a possibility of resigning him. I hope we don't. But it certainly won't be anything near 3.5 mil, id say 1 mill, max.

My girlfriend is a cop. 2 weeks ago she was in Nicolet for some updating, and MAB was there, he had been invited to visit by an instructor. He told people there that Gauthier already told him he was not going to be offered a contract.

BTW, apparently he is even smaller in real life than he looks on your TV screen.

BTw no I can't give you any "proof", by I swear it's true. So yeah, I guess Subban is a show in, and possibly Weber our 3rd PP specialist if we need one.

There are much better options available through trade, free agency, and already in our organization especially at that price. He could only do one thing right and that proved to hurt us in the long run when the couldn't find a use for the guy outside of the power play.

I'm thinking we go after Schubert to replace the guy. He has a big shot which replaces MAB in his entirety but is capable of playing defence and is also a good big, physical, defensive winger on an energy line. He can also kill penalties if needed. Best of all he should come very inexpensive. Any thoughts or suggestions for other players?

Christoph Schubert is actually a good choice. Can fill in as a D or winger and can provide depth and versatility while markov is out. He's a big body too.
