Pitt Interested in Kulemin...maybe more?

Word out of Pitt, Sports radio 93.7 and confirmed by Eklund, the Penguins are talking with Toronto about the availability of Kulemin and a defenceman (not named Kaberle). No word on potential return from the Pens.

OMG when you said confirmed by Eklund I didn't throw up on my screen.

At the moment, the world just isn't right.

Probably schenn, kulemin / malkin swap?

Nah j/k probably after kulemin because he was malkins teammate

But what does Pittsburgh have to offer the leafs? Not a whole lot if malkin or staal is off the table

Kulemin used to play on a line with Malkin in Russia (and they had decent chemistry), If my memory serves me correctly.

What does pitt even have to offer? I'd assume the D is either Schenn or Gunnarson

Maybe he decided to stop ****ing around with all of us?

I would actually like something like this, I love Kulie but if we can't get him signed, I'd love to see him playing with his old buddy Malkin.

Possibly Letang/Gogo coming back our way? What else does Pittsburgh have to offer us?

Kulemin is not only a very good young player, but if he can rekindle chemistry with Malkin as mentioned above, that would be a great addition for the winger-needy Penguins.

Kulemin isn't worth the Pens top prospect.

Kulemin has a lot of chemistry with Malkin and would be a great fit for they're 2nd line RWer.

Tangradi would have to be the starting point for Pittsburgh....not sure as to what else they'd include.

Gogo-for-Kulemin close to straight up might make sense if Kaberle is in fact on his way out for some big time help on the left side. But that ignores Pittsburgh's need for puck movement with Gonchar likely gone.

And how has Tangradi proven to be worth more than Kulemin?

Oh ya, he's only played ONE game in the NHL, compared to Kulemin's 150 (around there). How could I forget.

With Kaberle on the block, it might make sense for the Leafs to deal Kulemin for Goligoski.

I gotta think TOR gives up the 2 best assets there? I won't pretend to know everything about Tangradi but him and kulemin are only separated by a draft year and Kulemin already has 2 x 15 goal seasons while being very reliable defensively?

It would be a lateral deal, and Tangradi has the very real potential to be a Malone-type, which we could really use.

We're too close to the cap to be dealing NHL-ready young potential PFs for 3 mil players. Then again, I thought the Caputi deal would never happen either...if only I could've given Ray my brain at the deadline, haha.

A big and strong, established two-way player on the cusp of being a legitimate second-liner isn't worth a non-elite prospect? What makes you think that?
