Since Niedermayer retired...
..could this lead to Homer talking about shipping either Coburn or Carle for some pieces? Obviously they don't have a goalie to trade, just wondering if it's possible they're talking.
Maybe aside from the 2 D-men, Flyers could be interested in 1 year of Teemu Selanne?

As a Ducks fan, he surely is not. Or atleast he'd have to have one hell of an offseason workout to develop to that level over one year. He'll battle a lot of guys over the 5th dman spot.
Coburn would for sure be of interest to us.

I think I doubt that Anaheim does that. I just think Ryan and Sbisa have more value. Who knows, good speculation.

i'd do hartnell+carter+coburn for ryan+sbisa+3rd+koivu's negotiating rights if anaheim feels the initial proposal doesn't work.
edit: in case anyone didn't notice, i really like ryan. i also really like the koivu's.

I bet Nieds will be back. He's like the Brett Favre of the NHL. Maybe not in Anaheim, but he'll be back.

Coburn for Sbisa and a draft pick.
Do it.
Carle - Pronger
Timonen - Hammertime
Sbisa - Bart
And we'd have money to buy a goalie!

My lord some of you guys like to make blockbusters
A simple "Ducks might have interest in Coburn" suddenly includes Carter, Ryan, Hartnell, Koivu..
I'd offer something like the 29th and a cheap young dman like Mikkelson or Festerling.

I like the idea of Coburn for Sbisa and a draft pick. I never liked the idea of the Flyers trading him. Bring him home, Holmgren. Bring him home.

I'd love a carter for Ryan trade. Just not sure how interested the ducks would be.

Can anyone riff on the thought of bringing in Selanne as a scoring RW? I think it's a good idea if he's cheap, which he probably will be.

I wouldn't want Murray to give up that much. My motivation to want Coburn is that i'd rather have him than Wisniewski for the money but if the price for Coburn is that high then it becomes not worth it anymore.

Selanne is either ANA or retirement.

I would not do that. I like Jeff over Ryan and Luca has kind of hit the wall. I really think by him staying with us hurt his development.

Sbisa will be cheaper than Coburn, and he'd be on the 3rd pairing anyway. And Gagne-Richards-Ryan would be sick.

Sooo we're going to get Jim Dowd out of retirement, and have a Jersey boys line? JvR-Dowd-Ryan? Yes?

Ha! We could have a ton of fun with this, and Jules/Claude would have a field day with photoshops!
