Also I really doubt Thrashers trade the pick. I see more along the lines of minor trades like moving Kubina or Armstrongs right for 3rd round pick. Maybe even a Todd White and Clarke MacArthur package for a 3rd rounder. I would think Valabik is expendable, possibly even Vishnevskiy.

Dudley said a bunch of teams called him about Cormier but he doesn't want to deal him.

Fleischmann + 3rd (we don't have a 2nd this year) for Armstrong and Kubina.

what's funny is that Calgary doesn't have a pick AND doesn't have any young players or prospects nearly as good (except for backlund) as the "bunch of garbage" in that proposal.

that offer is, imo, too much for the 8th pick.

2 good young players, 2 good prospects and a 2nd... that's too many assets going the other way. Having the 8th would be great, but as much as high picks are worth gold around here, the bust factor is always present.

A.kost has a bad reputation around here, but people ignore the facts. He is not a character problem (no issues with coaches or within team), and at 25, with almost exactly 3 years worth of NHL experience (245games) he's averaging 22goals/47pts per 82 games

contrast that to a recently traded player the same age (horton):
422 games, 27g/57pts per 82 games

if healthy, A.Kost could easily match that kind of 82game output (25-30g, 55-60 pts) over his next 2 seasons.

horton certainly had more value, but he was worth a top3 dman and afirst round pick(15th)...

i think knowledgeable NHL people would value A.Kost much higher than the average message board fan, but i could be wrong, in which case the habs will be best served keeping him.

my offer:

to Atl
A.Kost (young, established 20 goal scorer on a decent contract that ends with him still an RFA)
one of Carle/Maxwell/Trotter
2nd 2010

to Mtl
8th overall

Dudley's first draft as Atlanta's GM, can't see him moving the 8th overall selection easily.

^ doubt it

some proposals

To SJS : Kubina's rights
To ATL : Nabokov's rights
--
To COL/SJS : Kubina's rights and Valabik
To ATL : 2nd round pick
--
To WHEREVER : MacArthur, White
To ATL : 3rd round pick
--
To WHEREVER : Kubina's rights, Todd White/MacArthur
To ATL : 2011 2nd round pick

Basically I see rights of players being available, Todd White, Clarke MacArthur, wouldn't be surprised to see more prospects dealt, Valabik

lets remake this trade to make it more feasible:

to atl:

andrei kostitsyn
sergei kostitsyn
1st 2010
2nd 2010

to mtl:

8th overall
rights to armstrong

its said that the trashers want a 20 goal scorer and a 2nd round pick, well in this trade they get both...

20 goal scorer you say? How about the one, the only, Brian Rolston!

Jiri Hudler + Detroit 1st or 2nd? Then we could take the 8th and some how use it to obtain Savard +.

What about something like this:

MIN: Kobasew, MIN 1st (9th) and 2nd (39th), WAS 2nd (56th)

ATL: Little, ATL 1st (8th)

20 goal scorers in general < 8th ovr. Cripes, people.

What about this:

Vancouver: rights to Mason Raymond
Atlanta: rights to Kubina, Bryan Little

Yes, we are going to trade a 30 goal scorer and the rights of our best defenseman for a 25 goal scorer

Fleischmann is RFA, right? Then absolutely done. I think we can't sign Kubina so Army and he is worthless to us. Every return from they is good.

I just hope that at the end of the day we still have at least one 1st round pick. I'm open for every trade as long as we have the 1st rounder.

Resign Max and then on July 1st you can get Poni (theres you 20 goal scorer) who has chemistry with Antropov.

He can do that without giving up an asset or draft pick.

That makes it Mason Raymond for the rights to Pavel Kubina.

That's about as unfair as it gets.
