I was going to post it! Damn general board proles moving in on my signing threads.

Anyway, Pavs at $4 is nice, I was expecting $4.5. I wish Patty would've taken a hometown discount but whatever.

Sweet. I was hoping Marleau would take a bit more of a discount, but he's definitely worth the money.

He's making 7 million because it's only a 4 year deal. His next contract will probably be smaller. I guess DW doesn't like super-long deals.

Anyways, my favourite player stays in San Jose

And, of course:

Think DW could have saved 1 million on both contracts but what the hey! (Is that the expression?)

woooooooooooo

but excellent deals. 6.9 per is a touch high, but he would have gotten more on the open market, and only 4 years is a steal.

getting pavs to take 4 mil was nice though. oddly enough I think he took less for the opposite reason as patty, to hit free agency quicker.

This leaves 12.225 mil for a goalie, a d-man, and four forwards to ice the minimum roster.

So we can expect Seto to sign for $3M? 3.3M?

Funny, Pollak says Pavs is betweeen 4 and 5 mil a year, but this twitter report says exactly at 4.

Thank goodness! I am sooo happy.

Of course a discount would have been nice, but we don't know the details, so maybe the length of term concession was the "discount". I'm sure Patty would have preferred a longer contract. And now I have to go through this again in 4 years.

If they were smart, they go with the young guys in net and leave a few million under the cap so if they HAVE to, they can deal for one (Vokoun) at the deadline. If they don't need a goalie then, they can spend it on something else.

Take a chance and trust the young goalies.

THANK GOD.

Losing patty would have been devastating to the Sharks. I was hoping for 6.5, but meh, its close enough.

Plus, my authentic Marleau jersey is safe!

$6.9 and a Shark is better than $7.9 and a King.

Woulda been nice to see a long term deal for Marleau for him to remain a Shark the rest of his career. Do you guys think the length of the contract has anything to do with the 35 and over rule? Marleau's currently 30 which means the next time he's a free agent, he'll be 34.

Wish he would have taken a discount, but I can't complain much since the Pavelski deal is excellent.

On that note, he hasn't came to a deal with Seto, and I'm under the impression that his rights are being shopped around. Which is great!

If I was Seto's agent, I wouldn't settle for less than 3.6 which is what Clowe received.

I doubt it. Theres been no indication of that what-so-ever.

Plus, who do you plan to replace Seto with that doesn't slow down the top-6 considerably? You cant. We need to improve out top-6 speed, not slow it down.
