NOW CONFIRMED: Sergei Comments on Habs For Halak Trade, Much More

NOW CONFIRMED WITH LINK: Original Story / Translation

http://twitter.com/GenadiB/status/16938725520

Genadi Boguslavski, a Montreal based Russian hockey write is quoting Sergei Kostitsyn as saying: "Huge mistake of #Habs management" in regards to the Canadiens trading Halak.

---------------

From Google Translations... The relevant sections:

RE Halak Trade

Sergei: What can I say? I believe this was a leadership failure of the club. Losing Halak greatly weakens our team. I am sure the bosses will regret the trade they made with St. Louis later on.

So do you not believe in Price?
Over the course of the season, Jaroslav Halak proved he is stronger than Price.

....

He also points at Latendresse as an example that Montreal holds back good players, pointing out how much better he was on a new team.

He talks about his fights with the coach and how the coach didn't like him. He mentions he got left behind during the playoffs because he had one of his many fights with the coach the day before leaving.

Thinks he would have done more in the line up, was more prepared and had a better attitude about things, but that the coach just didn't like him.

Says he is looking to the NHL first, then will consider European offers if no one wants him.

Says he won't talk about his future with the Habs for a month (IE until the contract stuff plays out).

Didn't he and Price have something going during the playoffs? Anyways, Sergei is gone, gone, gone no matter what...

Before everyone jumps on his ass, this is really not a reliable source (as of yet).

Looks to me that it was Sergei as the problem in Montreal and not Grabovski.

Habs traded the wrong one, and Sergei is only trying to force the Habs hand to trade him...and he doesn't like being called out by Price, the guy is a headcase.

Habs should let him rot and go back to the KHL, screw him over for a NHL career.

Uh, if you're under contract with someone and you make a negative public statement about your employers, aren't you liable to get sued or something?

I think they both had their problems didnt grabovski just up and leave one time, when he was going to be a healthy scratch or something?

He failed to report and ask for a trade, but came back and played well...did the same as Sergei this year. But, Sergei never played well again.

MTL should send Sergei back to KHL...seperate him from his bro so he doesn't bring Andrei down! And save the 900k qualifying offer to spend on someone who will respect the history and tradition of the Habs

Oh no. A hockey player talking about how he truly feels.

Disgusting.

There are probably quite a few players on the Canadiens who feel this way, but that's not something you can say to the media.

Exactly.

Sergei should keep his mouth shut. He is already on thin ice with the organization. He clearly wants to be traded to another NHL team.

Seriously, if these comments prove to be true, these bros need to be shipped the hell out ASAP for the good of the team. With the money saved we could look to throw some dough at Frolov...

Sergei should keep this for himself as he is still with the team for now.. But I agree with him, if what we've seen of Price with his 2 misconduct penalties in the only game he played in the playoffs is the 'more mature Price', well I'm pretty scared..
