Exactly what I was thinking. NYR and DAL are the next two picks, and one of the above will definitely be available, but I'm not sure what either team would want at the moment.

I think it would cost us too much.

the more I think about this, the more I like it. You can't ignore skill and Connolly def. has it. If he pans out and our lines can look anything like:

Downie - Stamkos - Connolly
Ashton - Lecavalier - Panik
Harju - Tyrell - Wright

obviously it would change a bunch, but if all of them do what they are supposed to, those could be the most complete lines. you have 1 of everything one each line. and you still could have Malone, Purcell and others.

C'mon NY and Dallas, you don't need those picks, look at all the money you have.

Malone plus a 3rd, or a couple of 3rds with Malone should be around it. I'm willing to give it up for a future franchise defensemen

I'm gonna guess we don't see Connolly in Tampa Bay for at least two years. Minimum. Who knows where Marty is by then.

Makes sence.

also I am very surprised Dallas did not take Gormley to have him a Richie together.

I think Anaheim's going to take Fowler (or Gormley) to eventually replace Niedermayer.

Maybe Fowler is not as good as we think. The proof could be in this draft. The Connolly pick doesn't look so bad anymore considering how far Fowler is falling.

Come on Yzerman, when destiny approaches you, you have to grab it by the balls. Its sack is hanging now, just reach out and take it!

I don't think he's overrated, I just think his actual potential isn't as high for a top pick. He's not a Brian Leetch or Phil Housley like Central Scouting says he is. I am not surprised he fell but I am surprised he fell this far. Gormley too.

Wow, my feed is really slow, got five tweets that Gormley went before I saw it.

And he doesn't look that much like Richie.

Nothing about this pick makes me happy at all with what was available. I have a feeling there are going to be regrets on this one.

Well if Fowler and Gormley turns out to be stars, then at least they ended up in West and not in Carolina or Atlanta

When the 21st pick rolls around, someone's got to make sure that Yzerman doesn't walk up to the stage.
