Hopefully Forbort is ready just about the time Willie Mitchell is done.

Doughty - Forbort
Johnson - Voynov
Hickey - Teubert
Deslauriers

or some combo there abouts ... the D looks like it could be SOLID for the next Decade

I think Muzzin is going to be a very solid top 4 defenseman in this league.

Well who knows if we can afford all those guys on the backend anyways ... maybe switch in Muzzin and move off Voynov in part of a package trade that brings us our scoring sniper ?

2 years? I expect Forbort to be in college for at least 3 years and then at least one full season in Manchester. He is a longterm player.

Not trying to be down but its very likely that at least two of Hickey, Forbort, Teubert, Deslauriers, Voynov never become NHL regulars. Expectations seem really high right now and PSP isn't around

Like someone said this kid is raw and with the amount of D prospects we have I highly doubt he's gonna see any action with the team for awhile. Kings are gonna be patient with this kid and let him develop his game. Unless he empresses the heck out of Dean and the coaching staff then that would be even better. But my goodness can we have anymore D prospects in the system. Sheesh.

Hickey
Forbort
Teubert
Voynov
Muzzin
Martinez
Deslaurier
2011 draftee?(perhaps)

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.

No way he stays 3...top picks never stay long in the NCAA, I see a similar path to Shattenkirk for Forbort.

Unless you're Detroit and you have Gustav Nyquist. I heard someone say this weekend that he's the first Hobey Baker top-3 finalist to return the next season. Don't know if that's true or not, but I would imagine he's still in select company if it's not accurate.

Forbort looks good but I think Deslauriers will be awesome one day.

He is like Jack Johnson in that he wants to be a collegiate player right now. One of the reasons we took him is he going to take a while to develop. He might be down there for a couple of seasons, though I tend to agree that three is pushing it. Though it could easily be that long or more before we see him with the Kings during the regular season.

Exactly.

It's not like he was a top 5 pick and we need instant gratification.

4th rounder...anyways for the people that like that Forbort vid, if my memory serves me right that should be from his junior year of high school, so he is almost 2 years more developed from that video.

I didn't know Ron Hextall's kid played at UND. No wonder management were so comfortable with Forbort going to college to develop.

I doubt that had much to do with it.

As soon as I heard that Forbort was going to UND, I knew he was in good hands. So did DL, regardless of anything Hextall said.

if you click on the video link, it shows 10-3-10 exhibition game where Forbort(#4) has an assist...

Seems like he's on the ice every time UND scores..

NCAA hockey doesn't have much of a boxscore sheet, so couldn't tell ya how many of the goals he was on the ice for, but i think every goal that wasn't on the powerplay he was on the ice for. As others have said, very good hands, but the thing that suprised me the most was how calm he was with the puck for his first game, the breakouts were automatic, great vision. Hextall's kid is fun to watch, one of the most hated players in the league, never stops running his mouth. One game his freshman year he drew 9 penaly minutes before they dropped the puck on a faceoff. Doesn't ever skate past the other teams bench without saying something.

Forbort's the real deal. If he starts playing with an edge, watch out. I see a lot of JBouw in him, both good and bad qualities.
