Cam Fowler 1st round 12th overall

I was so excited to get to see him drafted by us. I've heard a lot about his potential during the season but I didn't look too far into him thinking we had zero chance at getting him.

He said he is shooting for making the team out of camp, is there any chance this happens? If so would that force sbisa to Syracuse to start the season?

Or is he spending time in juniors?

I can't wait to see this kid on the team. I think he will need a year but if he proves it and has a good camp, I am all for it.

The Ducks don't like to rush their prospects, especially not the offensive kind. So no, I don't think he has any chance at making the team to be honest. I predict he will make his NHL debute as soon as 2011/2012 though, and could be a regular in 2012/2013. Well, if things goes as planned.

Bob Murray said, that he wants to give Fowler a very long look at the training camp and he sees a chance that he can make the team, despite he normally doesn't like to rush prospects.

Yeah, I expect him to get a long look in camp and preaseason as well. But we are already stacked with bottom pairing-guys. So, he'll likely be sent to juniors and then can't be recalled until his junior season is over. We'll probably see him in Syracuse for a few games at the end of next season.

If you watch the mic'd up video of Fowler, that was excruciatingly hard to watch. I love when Craig Button talked to the kid and reminded him about the 2003 draft where Parise went 17th overall. That was a great talk from a guy that has nothing invested in making the kid feel better. Its going to be hard to see RC ice both Fowler and Sbisa in the lineup so I think its going to be one or the other. I think Fowler is going to at least get some serious time in the AHL.

I also wouldn't be suprised to see fowler get his 8 game tryout to start the season so sbisa can have a slight adjustment period in Syracuse. I wouldn't be opposed to that at all.

It's NHL or junior hockey for Fowler for next 2 years which absolutely sucks.

Yeah...

10-11: Juniors
11-12: NHL

I don't think he ever wears an AHL jersey.

Etem will see a season in the AHL in 12-13 though.

Doh! I forgot about that little rule. Ideally, it would have been nice to have Scott Niedermayer groom Fowler for the NHL and I hope he is involved in helping out our prospects at camp.

I think Murray would like to give Sbisa some time in Syracuse and fowler making the team would make this scenario much more realistic.

Man that is hard to watch. That's certainly polite applause. I wonder if he's ever been more anxious/disappointed in his life. And yet when you're picked and shaking the hands of the staff (and Niedermayer), it still has to be one of the most exciting moments so far. What a roller coaster.

Fowler looks just like his dad. And who's that with the Kings jersey in front?

If I am not mistaken you wanted to trade up to nab him.
No one could have guessed that he would fall right into our laps at 12

Good news, he`s only a kid, and will grow both physical AND mental.
Lil Wayne... this isn`t serious.

Anyway can`t wait for him to wear that Ducks jersey.
