Both of which are still to much.

I just tried offering Wallin $2.5m in NHl 2010 and the game just shut off by itself.

Does that mean Doug has enough cap room now to resign Seto for 5.5 mil?

I refuse to believe that Walin is signed for 2.5 million. Doug Willson overpays some players, but this is just absurd.

People aren't gonna boo like that. 99% of the fan base thinks the Sharks can do no wrong. Also, as long as the Sharks are bringing in $$, Wilson's job is safe. Make no mistake about it, this is a business.

What the hell has he ever brought to this team? He's kept Thornton, even through all of this time of Thornton sucking in the playoffs. He totally ****ed up in the 03 draft (We could have won a cup by now if he drafted perfectly in that draft IMHO.) He traded for Heatley and his cap hit of 7.5.

6 seasons of 99 points or more, 6 straight seasons of making the playoffs, 2 WCF finals appearances, showed a willingness to bring star players to San Jose (previous regime really didn't) and helped develop hockey in the area and helped it grow exponentially. You may not be pleased with the results, but he's brought a lot.

Yeah. I'm probably going to get flamed, but what I've seen from the fans on facebookand in the HP Pavilion, they seem to be the most biased fans in the world. On HF Boards, the fans aren't dumb. In fact, they seem like the most knowledgeable fans on here. I apologize for making all you Sharks fans look dumb when I first got on the boards. Sorry!!!

You could say all that but if you follow it with: signed Wallin for 2.5 million...it still looks terrible.

The contract negotiations were conducted through a Swedish interpreter. Unfortunately, the acting interpreter is also Wallin's agent.

The term for 2.5 million sounds very similar to get out of my office.

You could probably say the same thing about every team in sports though, fan pages on facebook and fans in the stadium are going to always be biased towards their teams.

I like Nichol, but if I was DW I would put the priority on Malhotra first because of age, the playing time he got etc. I hope to God this does not mean Manny will not be resigned.

As for Wallin, I'm impartial.

I'm going to cry. We have the most overpaid bottom pair in the NHL. 1.75 for Huskins and 2.5 for Wallin? Is DW a moron? Can't the league unapprove such a signing when it's clear there is some form of blackmail and pictures of sheep at play?

It cannot be $2.5 million... that's not possible. There's just no way Wallin could be given a raise from last season.

Even if he showed me the check, I wouldn't believe it.

Kent Huskins' 1.7 million makes this rather possible. Doug Wilson has shown a consistent overvaluing of 3rd pairing defensemen. Douglas Murray at the time was an overpayment too.

WTF - i don't believe DW would give Wallin 2.5M, this must be a un confirmed rumor.

I'm still thinking there is a D one the way out to make room for another high end D coming in - i refuse to believe this is our D next season.

Nice to have Nichol back. I still have to see what Wallin can do with us for an entire season then I'll give my assessment. I hope we didn't overpay. I trust Wilson because although I thought Huskins was overpaid a bit he did play rather steady at times. I just hope that we have enough room to manuever and acquire at least one dman during FA. Need not be a big name, just a steady reliable dman. What I don't really understand about Wilson however is how stubborn he is when trading for someone, he usually feels obligated to signing them. Only time will tell if Wilson made a right move. So for this year I would say he is in the 50/50 range in terms of making us a contender. He hasn't made that move to propel us from our current spot. I hope Wallin makes nowhere near Murray money. I think Murray is a nice fit for our D. The limited time I saw Wallin he looked lost, maybe because he is trying to understand our system.

Only thing I can figure is Murray is gone, Demers is paired with Vlasic and he's bringing in a guy to pair with Boyle (Mitchell maybe).

Boyle - Mitchell
Vlasic - Demers
Huskins - Wallin

That's bad. That's like, holy crap my car is on fire and it's still in the garage bad.
