How could anyone possibly equate drafting a goalie who is going to the University of Denver this year to trading Vokoun this year?

True, don't see anything wrong with the pick. Need to keep the cupboard stocked guys.

Chill out... You can't take a flashy forward every pick. I think we've taken some extremely strong guys who will really do well in the future.

If Markstrom makes the team in 2011-12, then we'll need another goalie to bring up the rear. Who knows whats gonna happen with guys like Plante and Shantz....

you can never have too much depth at goalie that is like having too much depth at starting pitching in baseball. Impossible. It is nice to have and valuable if they grow even if we don't need them

on a side note: GO USA SOCCER! WC Time baby!

I guess our prospect pool shouldn't have any holes after this draft.

With three 4th round picks we should be able to gamble on a guy like Kitsyn. If you saw the Kuznetsov clips when he was drafted, all the set-ups were made by Maxim Kitsyn. Pulkinnen am I very high on too, 99th overall coming up soon.

Well at least Brittain was 1st in hand-eye coordination at the combine, that's a good sign for a goalie. And he has great size. Again, he's a good goalie prospect, but why are we taking a freaking goalie??? Not in the 4th round.

I don't know anything about Benjamin Gallacher though.

not sure if youre referring to my post but i stand by the logic. markstrom and salak will be in the nhl very soon because vokoun and clemmy wont be around much longer imo. we will need new prospects to take their places so i like the pick.

Funny that Sam Brittain is headed to Denver. So we take Denver's goalie by signing Cheverie and draft another guy headed there. I think Brittain will take at least 3 yrs in college so this is a good value pick even if it doesnt quite make sense.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. As I said, it's worked for Cheverie.

He's a very highly thought of prospect for this year. But....he's a goalie and the class is deep this year. We could have picked one up in 5th or 6th round.

That says Brendan Gallacher a right winger? Is that who we picked? Or a defensemen?

Salak's not even a guarantee, really. After Markstrom, there are no guarantees. Although, I think Cheverie is the best prospect after Markstrom, to be fair.
