I love that pick, he is a solid stay at home d-man who can occasionally contribute offensively. He is to be captain of the teamn next year at 18 in Cape Breton.

Sexy pick!

I love the guy and he is a very good all around D with more of a stay at home style....

One of the best QMJHL players left in this draft.

My pick would have been Domingue but they must feel they don't need any G for now.

Kid seems to have a good attitude from his interview. He look down to earth and composed.

Could become a good pick

WHY DO WE KEEP DRAFTING CANADIANS INSTEAD OF EVERYWHERE BUT CANADA!?!?! Terrible. Fire Timmins.

edit: sorry... I spelled Timmins correctly. I meant Timmons.

Better pick than MacMillan, imo. He's one of the guys that I've seen the most of (as Moosehead opposition), and I think he's pretty solid. Just turned 18, too. I think he could come close to doubling his point output next year in the Q.

i really like this pick. I have season tickets for the cape Breton screaming eagles . He is a very good d-man that not afraid of going to the corners and mucking it out along the boards. Also in a recent interview with the newspaper here he said he would like to get drafted by the Canadiens because that was his favorite team growing up. I might be bias because he plays in my hometown long story short i like the pick

Did you already watch MacMillan play? If the answer is no, how can you say it's a better pick?

Not really, 84 hits in 60 games in the Q last season. I guess he's average in terms of willing to engage physically.

He's a great player. He'll bring us leadership as he will be Captain of the CB Screaming Eagles next year. They're my home town team and I've seen him play a lot, and I really like him. He's big enough to learn to throw his body around, so maybe if we bring him to the AHL for a while, pair him with a big body dman (O'Byrne, Tinordi) he could get in the habit of doing that. Overall a great player though, I love this pick.

He was born exactly 1 year after I was.

Kinda weird - this is the first year where just about all the guys drafted are younger than me

I like the pick as well....although I haven't particularly liked him in the QMJHL since I'm in Moncton and of course am a Wildcats fan....LOL. Ellis has played well against us for the most part. Like you said, not afraid to go into the corners and along the boards with anyone. Great pick for the Habs.
