Rounds 2-7 on Saturday can be seen starting at 1 p.m. ET on the NHL Network

Last night, Regier talked about the possibility of trading into the 2nd round. He said there's few guys Kevin Devine really likes that are expected to go in the 2nd. As always this is a process and they will weigh the costs vs benefits.

C'mon Kabanov. Most 2nd round picks don't amount to much anways, I always believe in going for the boom/bust prospects, especially after the first round. I think we'll see a jump into the second round for sure today.

I'd also love to get Beukeboom, if only because that's such an awesome name. Is he an offensive defenseman with a rocket shot?

OK, now the interesting part of the NHL Entry Draft begins. I think some steals in these rounds are more important than the 1st round picks. I know it's hard to explain, but you don't build your team on 1st round picks. They're usually your star players (unless you draft like the Thrashers in the past) and the rest of the team consists of later draftees. (For example: Roy, Pominville, Tallinder, Kaleta,....) It's way more interesting than drafting "can't-miss-players" even though you have to wait some years before you can judge these draftees properly. I have to say that I really like the Sabres draft results in the last years.

I'm personally interested in our German draftees. We've got some good players (*good in relation that Ehrhoff is a superstar and that Sturm, Hecht and Goc are star players...) in this year's draft... I hope four of them get drafted.

We know the Oilers have always liked Stafford. Any chance of a Stafford for their 2nd straight up swap so we can grab Pitlick?

Kühnhackel Late 2nd
Grubauer 3rd
Maybe Abeltshauser and Hoefflin in later rounds?

I hope the Sabres move up into the top of the round and take a chance on some of the fallen players. McFarland would not be a bad pick at all.

Yes plus Noebels who had a terrific Junior Tournament (9 goals, 10 assists, +11 in just 5 games). Moreover he has the biggest body of all German draftees. (6'2" , 192lbs).

Crap, I forgot Buffalo doesn't have a second rounder at the moment. Too bad, there's a lot of guys out there that I'd love to see in Blue and Gold, this round is the meat and potatoes of this draft.

Burke trades an "unsigned draft choice whose name will not be disclosed at this time" to Chicago to take Brad Ross. And based on TSN's description of Ross...sounds like another one of those Burke type players.

And there goes Toffoli. Kings trade up for him at #49...

Darcy sits on his hands.
