Good. We didn't need him, and didn't have a place for him on the team.

It didn't sound like DeBoer wanted him back after the season was over. He played well the last few weeks, but like DB said, it's about the whole season and not just the end when the pressure's off.

Bah, don't understand Nasty not being brought back. Maybe into FA they'll bring him back. I went from a guy who wanted nothing to do with him and wasn't happy he was here to being a big fan of him. He's a great 4th line grinder.

Disappointed he won't be back. the others I don't care about, happy we qualified who we did, though.

4th liner who can be replaced.

I'm intrigued that Plante has been qualified. Where does he slot in next year? Salak get dealt/loaned?

Yeah, I'd deal Salak before Plante. However, they might loan Plante to get him more ice time because Markstrom will probably take the majority in Rochester. But that still leaves Chevy and Salak to backup behind Marky. 3rd-4th goalies should be some random scrub, not an important prospect because they'll get hardly any playing time. Chevy in the ECHL? Idk. Probably not, but who knows. It'll be interesting for sure.

Wrt Tarnasky, I wont lose any sleep. He still cant fight the heavies, I'd rather bring in a better fighter.

Good word on the goalies,

bout Nasty, I know. I mean, I wish he could go with some of the bigger guys and welcome a guy who can, but I just really like his game and would love him to compliment a guy who can. Won't lose sleep, either, just disappointed.

I don't think we're talented enough to afford that though.

I'm not upset since we already have Bitz, McArdle, and Duco.

I like Garrisson a lot. I think he could be a reliable bottom pairing d-man who might be a second pairing guy but I see no reason to sign him to a long term deal. Two years at most. Please, no need to burden ourselves with a long term contract.

Well, kind of sorry to see Collins and Sweetland didn't pan out - they seemed promising at one point. Aston was kind of a meh to begin with, and Beaverson was always said to be a longshot.

Whole heartedly agree with you, man. If we're looking to have a bright future we need to avoid these kind of hindrances.

This serves as a good cautionary tale though. As easy as it is to get excited about the draft, we'll never see most of these dudes in a Panther sweater.

yup, although in that new sticky thread this years picks are the highest on average by far so we have a better chance but most will not amount to much.

Yeah, I don't see why we're giving him a long-term deal.

i think the long term deal wont be longer than 3 years, not even 2 mil/year. actually i think anything above 1.5 is overpayment, because he is still unproven.
and he's a good guy to have on the roster until petrovic and the other newbies (hopefully) pans out

Yea, I wouldn't mind Garrison staying with us as long as we can keep him for under 1.8million a year.

Maybe 2yr @ 1.75 or 3yr @ 1.5.

Is he a full-time NHLer now? Doubt it.
