If he keeps this up I don't see how anyone would be able to justify not including him.

Vujtek's bringing up the names Malkin and Ovechkin when talking about Kitsyn.

He missed another game today, is it injury, or sent down possibly to farm club?

In the interview mentioned above it says that the coach decided to rest him saying that he doesn't want the kid to get burned out with a long KHL schedule.

So he's officially in the Senior KHL league?

Way to go.

Hopefully he'll be on the ATD challenge roster so we can see if he is ready for the U-20 level.

Kitsyn named KHL rookie of the month. Scored 4 goals in 8 games.

I don't know, if his club will release him for that challenge. Russia never had the best roster available in the ADT challenge

But don't they release players for the roster that don't see the most ice time in the senior league like Vasyunov last year? Maybe Trunev and Kitsyn this year? With all of the players in the CHL this year I hope the roster will be good.

Now that the Kings have drafted him, I'm curious about him. What can you guys tell me about him? Seems like a kid with decent size, speaks English fairly well, and seems to think the smaller rinks will benefit his style of play.

Compared to Frolov who when he first came to L.A. only nodded his head and said thank you, that's some fairly good English.

And a step up on Visnovsky:
http://articles.latimes.com/2001/oct/10/sports/sp-55475

Quote:
Stopping in front of then-rookie defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky, a Slovak, the coach delivered an impassioned speech.

"I didn't know how good his English was," Murray said Tuesday, recalling the story. "I thought he understood a little bit. ... I said, 'Lub, I want you skating tonight, moving your feet, stepping up, closing the gap.'

"He's kind of looking at me, nodding a little bit. I said, 'Are you ready to go tonight?' He said, 'Hi!"'

I'd be prudent here. He has potential, but he needs to be more consistent and also to show something at high level.

yes I agree, while great in a weak MHL, he's shown nothing in the KHL or playing for the NT for that matter not much either.

I don't know if anyone else saw him play in the exhibition games against the CHL, but he was great while playing on the top line with Petrov. Maybe he didn't do so well in the KHL because he is playing on a garbage team with dead weight line mates. We'll see what happens next season. This guy has tools to be a serious sleeper.

He was drafted in the CHL import draft by the St. Mike's Majors of the OHL.
