So, it's only a "conditional" pick.

my guess a 4th or 5th next year. nabby would be smart to sign w/ the flyers. best team with a starting spot available.

It is a 2011 7th round pick IF they sign him. If they don't sign him, it costs them nothing.

I didn't see that in the article. Did I miss that or was it mentioned in another article?

Guess DW is trying to get a 7th to replace the one he traded to Pittsburgh today.

Something is better than nothing I guess. If Philly does sign Nabby it looks like a rematch between the Hawks and Flyers for the Cup.

The most interesting thing for me in that article had nothing to do with Nabby. It was this:

Quote:
A number of people involved in the negotiations said that Hamhuis wanted “more minutes” than the Flyers could promise. He wanted to be the designated No. 3 D-man, and the Flyers weren’t going to give him Matt Carle’s minutes or split Carle from Chris Pronger.

Yeah, yeah, we know, Vaasa. Seriously, glad to see Carle has found a home.

Odd that Homer thought Hammer would be willing to play as a 5 man. Oops.

There was also a poster who INSISTED that DW would never ask Nabby to waive his NTC if it got to the point where the Sharks decided to part ways... DW has "too much class" or something like that. Pft, it's business.

Well at least this ensures that he stays in the East if he signs...that's one good thing.

If Evgeni Signs, we get their 7th rounder in 2010. If he doesn't sign, they are forced to take Wallin off our hands.

Doood it's a conditional SEVENTH man, morals and integrity only take you so far, but if some team offers you a conditional 7th you GOT to take it.

It wasn't me who said DW "would never ask Nabby to waive his NTC under any conditions". A few weeks ago I suggested this could happen. It did. It's just prudent business on DW's part. In fact, I bet that's partly why the org issued that press release to make a market for Nabby's rights.

I think it would have happened by now if there was going to be one this year.

Didn't they say it would be mid-July?

Man everything is getting ruined by being in 3-D these days!

Super! This has a realistic chance of becoming the last pick of the 2011 draft. Bravo Doug Wilson, bravo!
