Let's give Cammy-Plek-Akost one full year together. No injury please.

I believe in magic

If Plek and Cammy get red hot, Akost will follow. Well, I sure hope so

Yup! Let's once again let Plekanec do Andrei's job of digging in the corners! So when he's exhausted for the playoffs, all the blame is put on his shoulders, and threads are started to talk about how Andrei is not used properly, and would breakout if he was used as a LW on Gomez's line. Sounds great!

In terms of signing Armstrong, I like him, but I don't think he has top 6 skill so I wouldn't want him there. I don't want to pay alot of money for a bottom 6, because we don't have the cash. I love Markov, but what do you think about Kaberle to the Habs for the Kostitsyns and then Markov to the Pens for Jordan Staal ( assumes Pens satisfied Markov will be ready for near season start .

What if we get a solid prospect not so far from the NHL for him? Then, we have some cap space to work with.

I'm sorry but don't expect a "great" return for AKost...
Why would trade him for a poor return? We can't replace his production for 3.2 it's impossible.

There is no reason to give up on AK already like we do with all our young talent. He is worth every penny we are paying him. 20+ goals for 3.2 is nothing to snub at.

Again... where did I say a poor return?

Sorry but I don't want to give 3.25M$ per for a player who only play when he wants (i.e half of the games).

He doesn't fit in the direction the team is taking (players with heart and character) and if he starts the season in Montreal, he will be traded at some point. You can mark my words.

Anybody thinking they can get Kovy here is dreaming in colors. What you need is a stable D-man who can also play the PP with Subban till Markov comes back, a backup goalie and another big body for the bottom 6...Moen type of player. Forget Frolov, Lombardi types.

Rather have:

Frolov - Pleks - Cammy
AK - Gomez - Gio
Pouliot - Eller - Laps

Just have to dump Hamrlik.

Markov likely won't miss much time so we'd be better off with a call-up IMO. We need a top 6 forward and Frolov (big, defensively responsible, puck possession forward) already has chemistry with Cammy. It just makes too much sense.

This isn't to say that he doesn't hit as much but he's a lot better at picking the right moment to make a big hit and doesn't go out of his way and position a la Komisarek to do it. He also doesn't take nearly as many penalties which means he's on the ice for key defensive minutes... like on the penalty kill unlike Komisarek who's usually in the box (They had almost the same PIM this season but Volchenkov played twice as many games). The injuries are a bit of a concern but again, so are Komisarek's and I think that kind of comes with the package of getting this type of defense man. But with his injuries I think it's important to note that Volchenkov has not missed a playoff game for Ottawa since making the team.
Volchenkov and Gill on the penalty kill?!

How about Koval and a D man? There's no reasons we couldn't have both.
