I wouldn't do that deal from a Sharks perspective. Gooch is a huge part of our top 6.

The proposals so far have frankly been rubbish. The only thing from Toronto that might pique interest for Setoguchi is Schenn.

Yeah, let's punch a nice sized hole in our top 6 forwards...

the NBA can START with Stephen A. Smith.

Quite Frankly this is the greatest insult of all time. If you're building a stable of talking heads then you NEED Stephen A. Smith, especially for the draft.

"Taylor Hall! You can be the best forward since Slava Medvedenko!"

"Speak to me Tyler Seguin Speak to Stephen A!! What an outrage, I declare Tyler Seguin to be a bust."

Still Kabs would be interesting on the SJ blueline.

This trade works in a few ways. Leaf's need a scoring winger, of which Setoguchi is capable, but don't have anything preferable to give in return, and no Setoguchi is not worth Kaberle straight up.

Kaberle would represent another puck-moving option of the generally slow and untalented San Jose defense, something which was seriously exposed in the playoffs, but it is not worth it for San Jose to give up a young scorer for what would likely only be a year of Kaberle.

Setoguchi would preferably be moved for a relatively high-end, NHL-ready puckmoving prospect for the Sharks, which is definitely a need, as San Jose was exposed due to limited offensive options from depth.

Kaberle would be better dealt for a forward with size, not another smallish speedster with dubious scoring upside. We've already got a bunch of guys like that in Stalberg, Kulemin, etc..

Well, if they get Savard that could help make Setoguchi into a better scorer.

Toronto and San Jose just aren't good trading partners, plus even if a trade involved Schenn him coming to SJ and being in Yawney's hands would likely ruin his career.

Maybe we can add Yawney to the deal?

SJ needs to trade a forward and Setoguchi is probably their most valuable trading chip given age and dollars. Burke would do Seto for Kaberle straight-up in a heartbeat. I must say it's embarassing in a way, for Toronto to call itself the capital of hockey then to read so many Toronto fans on Setoguchi, or on Marc Savard.

Eklund was on a roll it looks like it ends here.

Although I can see San Jose shopping him because they are going to need a goalie and re-sign Thornton next season. My guess is he wants to much money and may not be in San Jose's plans at that price.

Seeing as Wallin LITERALLY just signed a 2.5m contract, I doubt he goes anywhere..

I'd go ******* if we got Seto for Kabs..

BTW-Leafs trades = views, Views = $$$ for Eklund; expect more BS about the Leafs from him..
