Being that we could've had our shot at both of these guys in 36 hours, particularly Boyd, we didn't really get anything and gave up on a player with huge offensive upside.

Wrong. It's the players.

Becuase usually, talented players with great hockey sense will find ways to become solid contributors to a team in one way or another (as we saw with his PK ability this year).

Maybe this trade is the shake up he needs. He will become a fine player once he gets his **** together IMO. I'm just disappointed we didn't have the patience to work with him.

Honestly doubt the guy is in the NHL after a few years. He just doesn't have "it". Skill only takes you so far.

Wow, very nice to see this. Don't think he would have write this if it wasn't what he really think.

If he's really a friend of Cammy, we have a good chance of signing him !

Sergei wasn't a total idiot. Montreal kept him in the show for a reason. When he went down to Hamilton, he worked hard and produced and proved he belonged in the NHL. He just wasn't a fit with Martin and the team.

Sergei will succeed in Nashville. If he was truly a headcase or worried only about money, he would have been in the KHL a long time ago. Plz educate yourself before speaking in the future.

He hit 24 points this season playing a minimal role, and 22 points the year before. Every year, he got more than 10 goals.

Very good trade, the guy fits the current scheme much better than Sergei does.

Let's relax now. He has some potential and has talent. Huge offensive upside is a bit of a stretch.

But SK could never ever realize his potential here in Montreal after what has happened in the last 18 months. Do you not realize that? Given our current top 6, he was too small. We need size, we already have play makers, he just doesn't fit in, in our top 6.

AK will no longer have any distractions, his brother will be getting a legit chance in the NHL in the top 6. And he'll be able to focus on doing his job without worrying about his little brother. I think this is the best thing for the bro's, to separate them.
will see I hope so, I sure want to see what he will do next year WITH the Habs. contract year, No Sergei, score goals.

24 years old, works hard for the team and never complains about the role he is given nor does he ever create media frenzy or ask for trades. I'll take Boyd in a heartbeat.

And Boyd isn't replacing Moore. Eller is, Boyd will more than likely be the 4th line centre so Lapierre can go on the wing.

At least he went to the West. Was hoping we would trade him at the draft for picks...instead we trade him for pending UFAs. Preds win this deal easily. It's literally no risk high reward for them. I'm calling it now, Sergei pulls a Lats and causes many people who wanted him out to complain that he was dealt.

I'm a bit upset since this means we probably won't resign Moore, who is better than Boyd. Not upset at the trade, it just means we've probably let a more productive player loose. So far on paper, this team looks slightly worse than last year, I liked the Moore addition and I wanted him resigned.

Thats if he isn't part of a package to go elsewhere, which I hope he will be.

Who cares if we can't? There are plenty of options on the UFA market out there... What I want, is Ellis under contract for many years. Next in line: Trade A. Kostitsyn, and get, once again, a guy who'll fit the team better.

There is a much better chance he pulls a Radulov than a Latendresse.
