Skelleftea play again today, Hadelov started the last game and it looks like he did pretty well (1 goal let in on 31 shots) hopefully Joacim gets the start and plays well.
I really hope that the first game was just Joacim being nervous. He froze in the crease a lot, which is so different from Bobrovsky who is all over the place and in constant movement. I concur with Mike; I hope being lit up didn't kill his coach's confidence in him.

Yeah he got burnt on two breakaways and two of the goals he dropped rebounds right in front of him and they got snatched up. The other beat him side to side (on the powerplay I seem to remember), which he couldn't do much more about. The problem with the highlights we've got posted in here is that they don't show any of the saves, for all we know he made five really good ones and his team hung him out. Just as easily, it could have been a bad first game, he wouldn't be the first to have one of those.
Bob is all over the place (in a good way) in the crease so far, most goalies fall somewhere between that and Leighton who looks statuesque in comparison. From all we've heard Eriksson is pretty athletic so I wouldn't be too concerned.
Hopefully he starts and has a good game tonight. One thing I was wondering though, how good are Skelleftea? Are they expected to be a good, mediocre or bad SEL team this year?
Scandella could be an interesting guy to watch. He isnt young (27) but has experience that could be good for the young guys. He has only played in Italy and a quick few games in Sweden but has played for Italy in all the WC games.

I thought I'd heard of Scandella, and I had but it was Marco Scandella, his brother.
I have no idea who Giulio Scandella is but I sure do like how his team totally copied the Oilers logo. I didn't even know that was possible.
Looks like he played in the Q way back.
I'm all for a few vets on the Phantoms to help the up and comers. Too bad all of his experience is from another continent.
Not totally uncommon practice for small teams I think actually, I'm pretty sure there was a UK team in Peterborough or something that used a Flyers 'P' logo.

My PeeWee team was the Texaco Oil Kings. We stole neither the Oils logo nor the Kings, but instead the Whalers. Go figure.
Things aren't looking great for Eriksson in Skelleftea right now. He had one poor performance when he gave up 5 goals, and since Andreas Hadelov has been great with a 1.98GAA and .919SV% in 4 games.

Yeah it's not a great start for Joacim, Hadelov's only played 3 games though. Skelleftea play Thursday and Saturday I guess they'll split those between the goalies, at least I hope so. It'll suck for his development if they ride Hadelov too much.

This is OT but...
The Basingstoke Bison in the English Premier League (they were formerly in the elite league) have this as their logo.
Which is almost the same as the Sabres logo. According to wikipedia The Bison became The Bison in 1995, so it is possible that they actually had the logo before the Sabres who used it starting in 1996, but it doesn't say what the original Bison logo was.
This is a big year for Klotz. I think he has a breakout year in terms of his overall play and enforcing. Hethen enters the picture as a prospect who has a chance. He is only 21 so hopefully he develops this year.

you with something positive to say about a prospect? shocker!
I smelled pretty strong sarcasm on that comment, actually.
Not too sure about that, if he said he expected Klotz to push JVR for powerforward of the year on the Flyers, I'd say we have ourselves a dreamer, but to say he expects him to play better and win some fights is not really dripping with sarcasm.

Considering the source (our prospect pool's biggest critic) and who he chose to highlight (our prospect pool's whipping boy), I highly believe it was sarcasm.

Has he ever written a NONscarcastic post? Me thinks not.
It's great stuff by the way.
I 'll be happy if Klotz can make it through the year without almost dying again.

there is not one player on the Flyers/Phantoms or hell even Greenville of the ECHL who I would replace with Klotz.
send him to that goon league in Quebec and be done with it.
Yes yes yes. Klotz is 10x the player Gustafsson will ever be. You win.
Glad you draw that conclusion. Then again you watch them play. You probably have a better read on the prospects then most. Then again a hockey guru like yourself knows that not always does the better player make it to the nhl. Still doesnt change the fact of what i posted earlier though. Didnt realize there was a contest going on, what are the rules and prizes at the end?
