Nashville acquires Sergei Kostitsyn for UFAs to be Dan Ellis and Dustin Boyd.

Typically Kostitsyn is not a player you'd see Nashville acquire, but he does have top 6 talent, and they weren't signing those 2 players anyways, so a good move for the Preds I think.

Great move by Poile, Kostitsyn is a skilled guy who along with his brother wore out his welcome in Montreal. Poile was going to lose Ellis and Boyd in a few days for nothing.

When you take into account he also got Ryan Parent for Hamhuis's rights, he is taking lemons and making lemonaide.

I too think it will be the Kings, but I'd rather have him stay East, we need one of this year's top 8 to fall backwards. Hopefully a team like the Rangers can dump some salary and get Kovy the same way they dumped Gomez to sign Gaborik.

If the Kings were to get him, I don't think you're going to see $10 million/year. They don't have quite that much cap room. I could see another deal like Hossa's where the numbers up front are big, but the term is long enough that the cap hit is lower. I just get a feeling some dark horse team will get involved in the bidding.

I'd gotten the impression he'd worn out his welcome in North America, but apparently he wants to stick around. Maybe some sanity's returning?

Actually, I just wanted to at least give one token mention of the Jackets and Kovy, just so we don't feel left out. As was well-said in a post on Kovy's potential destination in the mains...
