Sounds like we'll see Ondrej Pavelec then. Hopefully he's facing Garon.

I think Garon is starting based on PK...your probably correct about Pavelec based on Mason's workout tonight..

Hockey Rules Question

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nhl...e=NHLHeadlines

I asked this on the hockey fight thing... but wanted to get some input from the ones around here who are familiar with all the rules and regulations of the league.

Crosby did a decent job there, really wailed on the guy... but isn't it "illegal" to start a fight when wearing a visor or mask that would result in a fine or suspension???

And if that is the case, what are the odds that anything happens to Crosby???

It's an additional 2 minute minor if you get an instigator while having a visor. No fine or suspension.

Edit: An example would be the Brouwer/Stralman fight last year. Brouwer got an additional 14 minutes. A 10-Minute misconduct, 2 for instigating and an additional 2 for instigating with a visor.

I'm liking the potential of the Lightning vs. Kings game tonight. Two fun teams to watch. Aaaand Doughty seems to be back.

Detroit is closing in on beating Edmonton and an 8-2-1 record, mostly with Jimmy Howard. What is this with Detroit? Year after year they are top seeded with guys they draft and few know of them at the time.

We are yet to play Detroit but at some point one would think that team would tank... Their organization is beyond belief as to excellence from top to bottom.

Seems like every time I read about Sopel and Kelly, I like and respect them more and more.

The Blues beat the Bees 2-1 tonight... the two best goals against teams in the league..

We play the Blues Wednesday, Mason will need to pitch a shutout to tie them...

Lee Stempniak is a guy the Jackets could use... gritty, can score and is cheap. Our board needs a thread for realistic players (cost) that would change the apathy on our team.

Manny Malhotra

But in all seriousness, good to see him having a good season with 10 points so far

Zherdev pots another, 4 goals and 3 assists in 13 games so far. Not bad, he could be the surprise pick-up of the season for the Flyers.

Sweet shot, too. Actually, his classic shootout shot. He's definitely been playing a lot better since he was scratched.

The Flyers are riding a 6 game winning streak and are the hottest team in the East right now, ever since we beat them they have gone on a terror run with all aspects of their game clicking; as for the West it's the Blues and Mr. Halak in my book.

For those watching the Flyers on the NHL Network... take note of the play by play, color and on ice announcers-first class all the way.

The Blue Jacket fan is not getting what they deserve with the current Fox announcers for CBJ games... it's really a shame.

A number of people on HF don't seem to like Beninati and Laughlin, but I always have. And I've certainly heard them enough that I don't believe this is simply a "grass is always greener" opinion. Our grass really is quite ugly.

I like Beninati as well as Doc Emerick. My favorites were Thorne and Clement.

Things in Sabreland are close to blowing up and the pressure is mounting for a fire or trade.. We need offense and they need, well, they need everything but right now their defense is decimated and we have the defensive depth to put a million dollar defensemen into the 7th spot.

Not only is Edmonton the worst in the West but they are getting blown out in Carolina 5-0.... If folks think Howson is bad some around here wanted Steve Tambellini to replace MacLean...

Tampa looking strong vs. the fading Leafs (3-0)-I thought the Leafs would be good but injuries seem to be sinking that ship. I'm sure Boucher is pissed with a three game losing streak going into tonights game as well.

Tambellini is doing things the right way. Similar to Howson, it's going to take a bit before he can clear out his predecessor's mistakes.

I like Beninati, too. He seems more creative with his call of the game than other PBP guys
