That is more or less what I was trying to point out as well.

What is a Giveaway? Real time stats (give, take, hits, blocked shots, missed shots, etc...) are all scored by the local stat people. So if one guy see's something as a giveaway but another guy doesn't at another arena, then it is what it is.

For all the bashing people do on the guy, he ranks no where close to the top of the league

interesting that in the ESPiN rumors section they have a blurb about Niskinnan being available for the right price...thoughts?

do we have the "right price" for it?
is he the upgrade we're looking for?

Jordin Tootoo like is unacceptable, even if he's pounding on Avery.

Release the Banhammer.

Pitkanen from Carolina for Hejda + would be a nice swap

sweeeeeeet....here we go again!!!!

Quote:
Something is about to happen in Ottawa -- but we're not quite sure what. TSN's Bob McKenzie tweets, "Don't recall a time when things were messier in TOR, OTT and CGY at the same time. GMs looking to deal, coaches on hot seats, not pretty." We've spilled plenty of ink on the Toronto and Calgary situations, so we'll tackle the Ottawa fiasco here.

GM Bryan Murray might be seeking trades to save his job and, of course, the biggest splash he could make is trading Jason Spezza, which was a possibility in the offseason. But we're guessing he's not going to be that bold, so there's also been speculation that Alexei Kovalev could be a trade candidate.

Meanwhile, Sens coach Cory Clouston is also on the hot seat, ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun tweets. We're guessing Murray will first see what he can do via the trade market and, if that doesn't turn things around, Clouston's job will be seriously at risk.

I make no secret of my love of Ryan Miller. But that's only when he's in a Team USA sweater.

I am afraid I must remain steadfast on the Tootoo issue, though. He's less of a jerk now. He's becoming a better person. I have to respect that; it's in my nature... no matter how much of an evil little ***** he used to be.

As for the defense, Carolina will probably trade Pitkanen shortly after we trade Vermette. From what I can tell (disclaimer: I watch Carolina games approximately never), he's not quite Umberger-level untouchable, but he's not far off.

That's too bad, from an outsider's perspective it seemed that with Pitkanen in the last year of his contract their aquisition of Ian White was to brace for the loss of Pitkanen. Glad I posted here instead of the trade forums to get flamed by a bunch of Hurricane fans

He's 27 and their undisputed #1 guy. An insurance policy is possible and makes good sense, but that doesn't mean a loss is imminent.

Now, if you want one of their blueliners anyways, I'd look at Joe Corvo*.

*: interestingly, I'd forgotten that he'd headed back there. I thought he was still with Washington. Hmmmm.

I just noticed that on November 28th another center from the Bruins organisation made his NHL debut. He's got 3 shots on goal:
http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id...eason=20102011
Scott Arniel is an uncle of Jamie Arniel, who was selected by Boston 98th at 2008 draft.

Scott Arniel has 25 NHL fights on his record, he fought Glenn Anderson, Cam Neely, Peter Stastny and Luke Richardson. Looks like the former CBJ captain pounded the current coach pretty badly:
http://www.dropyourgloves.com/fights...2428#Fight2428

And to end the story funny video. Arniel tries to jump at Cam Neely but his flight was too short:

Ain't technology sweet? Flyers just had a goal waived off when video review showed the puck on but not over the line when the clock hit zero in overtime!

Not really, that gave 2 points to the Sharks, moving us out of the top 8, granted, still have a game in hand against them, but still gave 2 points to someone we're fighting for a spot with. Would rather of kept those 2 points in the East

I hear you, I wasn't thinking of the impact on the Jackets; but I do like that, for once, the correct call was made through the use of modern technology.

If it was 2 eastern teams, I would agree with ya Every point in the west is critical now, I will root for every Eastern team that plays a Western team, regardless who they are....even the Pens!

Raffi put Matt Smaby on his ass with a big hit, though he got a penalty for it for interference.
