The only hope I have that this is good news is if it's a two-way contract.

Trying to outdo his latest waiver wire acquisition. This is getting to be a laughing matter. Pick up another has been and sign an offensively challanged forward to a long term contract. He has let better players go.

If it's in the range fro mentioned...GMSH needs strung up. I'd rather see that money spent on an upgrade to Jared Boll.

Jared Boll is looking for a long term contract. Imagine that: someone actually wants to be here.

Doesn't mean we should resign 2nd rate enforcers...

True Fans

You guys sit on here and complain, but look least boll goes out there and play with heart and tries to be the best unlike some player (ie Nash most of the season). boll dosent deserve 1.1 mill contract but he dose derseve to be on the team. If u watch him in collage and before he came here he was well hell of an offisive player that y we go him but collumbus wants him to be a a fighter so that wat hes doin. plain and simple

Boll didn't play College Hockey...

He played in the USHL and Plymouth in the Ontario league

And Boll has always been a rough and tumble guy... over 400 PIM in two seasons in the USHL and over 400 PIM in two seasons in Plymouth... Contrary to your opinion, Boll wasn't being brought in to this lineup to play top six minutes.

Sheesh....

Actually now that I think about it, probably isn't that bad.

If you think about it, if they can get Boll for just around Dorsett money, they both could be playing 3rd line next year since they don't really score and seem to do decent at checking. Then we end up not resigning Moreau and Clark, saving about 3.5M.

Use that money to resign Voracek. Don't resign Murray, bring up someone from prospects, dump Methot more than likely, use spending money to resign Mason and Hejda.

Moore will probably be up here if not next season than the season after next, so maybe Hejda won't be resigned unless we dump a defenders contract between now and 2011-2012. A guess would be if they could offload Commodore somewhere they'd be saving a lot for 2011-2012 bringing Moore up and maybe could keep Methot as a 7th defender, but really you can't pay a 7th defender 1M+.

I don't know why you guys keep bashing Methot. I have been watching this kid since he started with the London knoghts. With Berry being his coach, I think you will be surprised with his performance. He has natural hockey instinct and this coach will be able to develope it. This coach was at North Dakota with Dean Blais when Commodore was there. I wonder why Commie hasn't commented on him. I do know that Commodore was in the dog house alot when he was there.

The problem with Methot is I don't think he's a top 4 defender more than likely. He may eventually reach #4 potential, but he will be RFA after this season, and he's already making 1M per. He'd probably be looking for 1.5-2.5M. We can't really afford to pay him that considering we have Commodore locked up for a long time, Klesla locked up for a long time, Russell locked up, Tyutin will be here for 2 more years, and John Moore will likely be up here by 2011-2012. Does Hejda get resigned? Depends on the asking price. If not, why not just take that extra 3.5-4.5M you save and try to sign a good defender in UFA. The truth is there isn't much room for Methot on the roster, even if he doesn't get a pay raise for the plain fact that we have enough defenders signed at the moment.
