Sorry for creating a random thread, but I'm a huge Flyers fan from Minnesota (post here every once and a while but not often) and I work for the Vikings, so I have a few days to kill here in Philly.
I read on the Flyers' website that the team store isn't open on non-game days, so my question was this: is there anywhere in or near downtown that would have a good selection of Flyers gear? I know the Wild's teamstore at their arena has a ton of things you can't find online anywhere, so I'm hoping to find a similar place here in Philly perhaps to take advantage of my time here.
If you're able to venture to Bucks County (about a 30 min drive or so from the Complex on a good day), hit up the Neshaminy mall. There's a Modell's there with a solid selection of player shirts, team hoodies, hats, and some jerseys. There's also a store there called Pro-Image that has, in my opinion, the best selection of player shirts that I've seen other than the WFC.
I'll try to think of some actually in Philly and I'll post back, hope this helps at least a little.
edit: Memorabilia aside, Pat's/Geno's/Steve's Steaks is a must. And have some real soft pretzels while you're at it.

I prefer Chickie & Pete's (mainly for the fries) myself, but Tony Lukes is solid, as well as Jim's on South street.
But as for the Flyers gear near downtown, there's always Mitchell and Ness on Chestnut street between 13th and Broad, just South of City Hall. There usually is some good stuff there but I haven't been in a while, and they're a bit pricey. I think there's also a Modell's just a couple blocks west too.

I say that tongue-in-cheek, I have to use the a bit more often here I guess. But whenever I know of people visiting out of town, or see something on T.V. about visiting Philly it's always "Oh cheesesteaks, you gotta go to Pat's/Genos." Hell just yesterday they had some Minnesota Vikings head over there.
8th and Market there is a large mall, they have a Modell's for some decent Flyers merchandise, and I was under the impression that the team store is open. The Wells Fargo Center is certainly being used, so I am sure they'd want to sell stuff.
no it's true. I tell anyone who travels into Philly and wants a chesesteak, that if they want nostalgia, go to Pat's/Geno's...if they want a good cheesesteak go to Tony Luke's or south jersey (never been to Jim's)

Whatever you say man, I guess I'm not enough of a Cheese steak connoisseur but I honestly really can't tell much difference between Pat's/Geno's/Steve's/Tony Luke's/etc. So if they're all very similar, why not go to the most popular ones? It's a roll, cheese and steak. It's pretty hard to **** that up.

If you want the most delicious cheese steak, go to Mama's Pizzeria off Belmont Ave, at the outer edge of the city. It isn't a Wiz steak, so I don't classify it as a "Philly Cheese Steak" just the greatest pile of steak and cheese EVAR!
