Good luck MAB.
Sadly MAB must have taken a lot of hits that we didn't see. Since most of the time in the defensive zone, it looked like he had no idea where he was.

I agree though, he was a courageous player and didn't seem to back down from anyone.

I liked the PP shot and I liked the versatility he added. Playing a few minutes at forward and on the PP gave us insurance when people got hurt. He bailed us out a number of times.

However, his goal output I think made his salary demands more than that of a 7th D / PP Specialist / Extra Forward. Perhaps if he is not signed by the time he's better we can pick him up for $750k or less. For his sake, I hope he's signed a good deal by then.

So the guys who scored big goals in game 7 (MAB and Moore) and the goalie who kept us alive are ALL GONE and people rejoice like we just got rid of Sergei Samsonov

No one is denying MAB has a shot, but he brings so many other negatives to the table, it's just not worth the trouble at the end of the day.

There is a reason he was unsigned in October, just saying.

Good riddance.

Good luck too him. He was instrumental in keeping our PP afloat for a long stretch last year and had a lot of guts for a little guy.

This thread made me buy turnovers (not the MAB kind). They are delicious!

Not by any stretch of the imagination.

He wasn't even the worst player on the team last season.

He's definitely the worst player who finished the year on our team. We got rid of D'agostini half way through and I don't see who else is worse than MAB.

He was our worst defenseman in the playoffs at the very least. Markov, Spacek, Hamrlik, Gorges, Gill were all better than him. MAB got worse as the playoffs went on.

2 goals and -12. Horrendous. Not to mention his pathetic attempts at playing his position.

And O'Byrne in the few PO games he actually played and of course Subban

Right, forgot about PK (the horror! ).

The truth is that Bergeron is more of a liability than he is an asset to this team.

Pouliot was worse. He was less than useless in the playoffs.

And yes D'ago was worse at the start of the season.

Either way, the claim is that he's one of the worst player in habs history and my memory stretches as far back as the early 90ies, and I'd say you can come up with an entire team worth of players that have been worse than him.

Well considering him close to that pile of horrible players is a good reason to want him off our team.

I had shivers everytime he got near the puck. Having a cannon is not nearly enough to justify keeping him.

Thanks for the goals for, please leave because of the goals against.

Obviously thankful for his shot, and for his heart, he tried his best, didn't back down, but ALSO would be VERY upset if we signed him again...

I want forwards playing on our forward lines, not a defenseman, and we already have

1. Markov
2. Hamrlik
3. Spacek
4. Gill
5. Gorges
6. Subban
-
O'Byrne
Weber
Carle

That I would rather have over MAB. If there are injuries, we NEED to see what OB, Weber and Carle can bring. If they are ready or not, because they have had plenty of seasoning. (Personally I think OB is ready now, but those 6 are obviously ahead of him on the depth chart at this point)

And we were garbage once again on the PP in the Pittsburgh and Philly series while he was around. For ****'s sake, even Hammer got more points than the so called "offensive-minded" Bergeron (9 points vs 6). And Bergeron was -12.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out MAB. The effort was there, but that's just not enough when you **** up as often as you did. Hope you get a deal elsewhere.

Definitely thankful for his effort and PP shot. I am also a bit sad at the GTFO posts. He was a guy who put the team first and did his best. Do I want him re-signed? Not really, given our D depth. That doesn't mean I'm gonna **** on the guy!

... and if he's still there in October and we can sign him to a 500k deal, we could do worse for an 8th D. I'd take him over a guy like Weber, just because he's clearly got an excellent niche (PP shooter) and no illusions to anything else. So what if he sits on the bench for 56 minutes and plays 4 PP minutes? He can stretch in the hallway to stay fresh.
