Good riddance, he made Breezer look like a defensive stalwart in comparison.

Our even-strenght stats for next year just took a leap in the right direction.

I detect some anger Van.

Actually I blame JM a little bit for not knowing how to play him. Yes Markov was injured and a few other considerable injuries affected both our ES and PP lines, but giving him extra minutes (as a forward or defense) when it was clear he was a defensive liability just because he "might" score because of his shot, was seriously weird to me.

Play him only on the PP if JM has a thing for his shot, but then when he causes turnovers game in and game out, sit his ass down and try something else.

The amount of times I saw MAB on the ice doing something stupid when we needed a miracle.....

Good riddance to the player, good luck to the man (I do respect what he brought to the locker room and how he handled the media).

Yeah, you're a real gem.

The guy did his best. Obviously he's not good enough for the Habs anymore. He's still in the top 1% of hockey players everywhere, and was a class act to boot.

Stay classy Van.

How old are you ?

the guy was a class act...never complain about his role or anything and manage to get point on the board........Same can't be said about all the players this season.

Agreed. Martin seems to really work at exposing some players' weaknesses during games. Maybe he should try to do it in practice? Or is he just getting completely out-coached?

Funny, for MAB every shift was an adventure (and often a goal against) but JM kept sending him back out there. O'Byrne would have one play on one shift like that and he would be benched for three games.

Hopefully, Subban/Weber/Carle can play this role AND play defense.

I felt some stress everytime he was on the ice. We don't really need him this year.
But he gave us some good goals at the right time.
He is a very good guy. I wish him good luck for a new contract.

At least we don't kid ourselves thinking that we can play D in the NHL, we know better than that

MAB does play like a ****** out there at times, he wasn't completely wrong saying that.

This is either expertly executed sarcasm, or silly. I'm sure teams aren't in a rush to sign him if at all.

there usually is lots of action with mab, but usually culminates with the other team scoring.

PG vs JM?

I guess Gauthier did not talk to Martin. Martin played MAB no matter what mistakes he made. He must see something in Bergeron that he did not see in the various other players he benched/damaged.

I would love to have Bergeron if the habs dress 7 D and play him only on the PP and following injuries.
