Colorado Avalanche Prospect Poll: 1

Alright we're getting into the dog days of summer here and it's getting to the point where... HF really isn't the place to be if you're bored at work or whatever..

So here's the beginning of the bi-anual prospect poll as voted by you the fans of the Colorado Avalanche...

Here's how it goes---
-Pick the player out of the ten players posted in the poll section
-Post who you think should be added to the next poll (next best prospect not listed)
-DISCUSS! DEBATE! DELIVER!

First one should be easy-breezy but let's just do it for sake of consistency!

Polls are open for 24-48 hours!

Shattenkirk

I voted Elliott. Won't be popular but I legitimately think he will be the best pro of the bunch.

I'm not a subscriber to the Shattenkirk hype yet. Maybe pre-season will change that.

I voted for Stoa, because he has played a year of pro hockey, and set his coffee down long enough to score some goals and sustain the mysterious "lower body injury" (sore shoulder) in the playoffs.

My question is this: are you asking which of these guys will be the "best" NHL player in due time? or are you asking which one of these guys will play regularly with the Avs the soonest?

PS- Elliot has another year of eligibility in Juniors.

These prospect polls are usually done using the criteria of who will be the best NHLer, not who is the most ready to make the NHL.

You can use whichever method you want, but I always base it on potential not how close they are to the NHL.

Example: Joey Hishon for me is a better prospect than Justin Mercier, despite Mercier already playing a few games in the NHL and being closer to becoming a regular NHLer.

Just wait until Jonas "NHL ready" Holos hits the ice!

To add an actual argument, Holos has played against men in a mens league and been pretty good. He also played against the world's best during international tourney's and while he didnt look great, he was decent.

Shattenkirk struggled this year playing against college boys. Shattenkirk will be good one day I still have high hopes for the kid.

But Holos will be great next year.

Or he is a genius and 99% of us are idiots. lol

If Holos is the best though, I'll write in my recommendation to the Sherminator to get Brewer a gig with the club.

Well blame yourself for putting Holos as a option.

You can't offer a choice between Vegies and Candy asking which is healthier and blaming a kid for choosing candy!
(okay, different situation but still!)

I was going to vote for Shattenkirk but I was browsing old threads on the Canucks forum and was assured "NHL readiness" is the mark of the best prospect.

Based on this poll and some previous posts, someone needs to change their name to "TOOMUCHHOLOS"

It's like you're asking me to choose from one of the asian chicks you keep sending me and I pick all of the above
(different situation but an awesome one to think of nonetheless)

I am sure Holos can unseat at the very least Cumiskey and Wilson and Liles.

Can you imagine any of the 3 above playing 30 minutes a night vs the worlds best and doing any better than Holos?

And G2P change your name to Herpes2Hamhuis
