I'm betting it happens right after we complete that deal to send McCabe and Olesz to Washington for Ovechkin.

I see us filling up Rochester. Although a off season where most of us for the first time have no hope we'll sign anyone signifant I bet they surprise us all and sign someone we never thought was possibly...

just kidding...

I heard it would be a bigger deal sending McCabe, Olesz, Reino for Ovechkin, Bckstrm and a conditional first rounder depending on whether Olesz has a 30 or 40 games without a goal.

He's projected as a 3rd line center so if we could offer pretty much that already and he performs well in the camp, why not offer him a place on our team? I think rushing prospects is only dangerous with those skilled 1st-2nd line projected players IMO. But you have a point. And I'm only saying that we should give him a roster spot IF he performs well in the camp. We could try him for ten games at least and then send him back to the WHL if he seems not ready for NHL.

Howden is more of a winger. I know TSN painted him as a checking line center in the draft, but IMO the kid has more potential than that. He could be a top 6 guy for sure.

I could see us making a play for Kovalchuk, depending on what kind of money the new owners have.

I mean, I believe Tallon was the one who signed Brian Campbell to that big deal.

It could happen.

Did I say that in my post? No.

Just saying, Tallon has handed out big, long-term contracts in recent past. Nothing more.

Some other cheap checking centers maybe Ryan Johnson, Jason Williams, Adam Burish, or Mr.Dominic Moore again if no one wants to give him a long term deal.

Wellwood is out there, but I'm not sure if being fat is a character flaw?

Rob Niedermayer would actually fill the 4th line spot, but I don't know if we want part 2 of that.

I would put my money on Burish since Tallon had him in Chicago.

The guy supposedly turned down 100 million from Atlanta. What more could Tallon give? Now, maybe if we still had Belfour to make him an offer...

Do you guys think it's possible that so much cap space was cleared for an active FA? I doubt it, but it certainly would be exciting! It's a thought... heh

Yeah, Burish is a possibility. I wouldn't mind just Malhotra and Burish as center signings, and then let Matthias earn his spot on the team over them. And hopefully push Reino out of the lineup.

I'd pass on Jellwood.

Yeah, he probably wants to play for the Panthers. I figured he had a crush on the organization seeing as he kept trying to score on us so much.

Just don't expect any superstar additions to the team from Sunrise.

I don't know how aggressive we're going to be, but we're going to try to get better and find players who make sense for us at this time,'' said general manager Dale Tallon, whose team has 17 NHL regulars under contract for next season.

I don't think we're going after the top guys, but good guys that can help us and not affect our future.''

Tallon should sell his soul to the devil to sign a player like Kovalchuk.

If he gives out 1 year deals, then we should be fine.

That will be devastating for the Panthers. I don't think anything short of cup run would be able to compete with that. For the sake of the Panthers, we better hope they all don't sign there.

If Wade left, then the heat can kiss their fans goodbye for a long, long time. I doubt he leaves miami.
