i like marty a lot... as a person. he has some hilarious moments.
i don't like marty that much as a player. he has some hilarious moments.

add in the fact that he has already turned down "a little over 2m/yr" according to hradek, biting into the cap yet more on top of wallin's ridiculous contract...
and the indication that SJ will not add any major UFA defensemen...

this is shaping up to be several steps backwards for san jose.

I don't see what people are surprised about. The salary will be the sticking point...like someone above said, who were you expecting that would have been an actual upgrade to nabby?

I like Turco, I'm willing to give him a shot as a 60/40 guy with Greiss. Unfortunately, Doug Wilson will offer him $5M per season because he's gritty and has won a Stanley Cup, and then trade Setoguchi to Vancouver for a D-level prospect to save cap $.

(I like Wilson, but a little venting is in order).

my thoughts exactly...but only if turco comes cheap

Could be, or it could be his puck handling skills. He changes the outlook of a game being able to skate out and make crisp passes. Also I'm almost positive I read somewhere that stalock is good at playin the puck. Not many better than turco in that reguard to learn from. Pending on how much he gets, hopefully it's not another wallin/dw man crush, it could be good for sj. Good stop gap goalie till our youth is ready that is determined to stick it to Dallas

I'm a Dallas fan that very much enjoys the annual SJ playoff flop, however if Turco signs there I will temporarily put that enjoyment aside to see Marty win a cup.

As much as I like the guy's personality, it was time to move on in Dallas. He was 100% classy when the season was going badly, he was classy when they signed Kari, he was classy when they announced they weren't keeping him, and he's still being classy (made some comments about us drafting Campbell..)..

I'll pull for the guy no matter where he signs.
