Prediction:

Several will be disappointed, while several are reaching above expectations.

I have low expectations for Darcy to begin with, so I'm just going to assume he's reaching above it

No, I'm actually pleasantly surprised by just about everyone. The funny thing is with the random rolls I did, half of us have excellent potential, 2 have really questionable potential, and the other 2 are in between. But so far everyone's doing quite well.

I'm a two-way center with questionable defensive abilities. I'm screwed

Preliminary scouting rankings are out. Nick Grunville is ranked 104 by CSS for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. Dabney was not ranked.

Between this season and next, would we be able to get a few more guys in?

Despite your awesome avatar, nope. It's a Pre-game editor. I've heard bad things about the In-game editor, namely that it ruins the database. Sorry.

Hey guys, I've been a lurker for awhile in your continued ehm games. I'm now in a couple EHM online leagues (DM and NB2) and have really enjoyed it. Thanks Duddy for introducing me to the game! Hope everyone is doing well.

Steven Dabney - A Western scout recently compared Dabney to a smaller, slower Patrick Marleau. In 27 games with the Michigan Spartans, the hard-working centerman has amassed 15 goals, 9 assists, and 14 penalty minutes. Scouts love that 5 of his 15 goals have been game-winners. He is playing an average of 16:52 per game. The 19 year old is still unranked in CSS circles, but one would think that some NHL team will take a flier on him.

Thomas Duddy - The budding superstar started his OHL career with a bang, registering a goal and an assist in his first game with the Sting. Unfortunately, 9 games in, he suffered a hip flexor and missed 2 months. At the end of the calendar year, he has played in only 15 games and has 9 goals and 1 assist. He has been playing over 18 and a half minutes per game.

Christoph Gaspar - Dominant. The young German, playing for Shattuck-St. Mary's high school, has performed above and beyond what anyone could have imagined. In 33 games, he has scored 63 goals and assisted on another 48 for 111 points and a +92 rating. While he was noted for his defensive play, his determination and wrist shot have gained him much prestige as a scorer. He is playing over 27 minutes a game for Shattuck's. He has been projected to be a more talented version of Darcy Tucker. He is draft eligible in 2007.

Nick Grunville - Grunville, who was ranked 104th in the preliminary rankings, is not ranked half-way through the season. Through 24 games, he has 2 goals and 9 assists, along with a +9 and 23 minutes in the sin-bin. The hard-working German has been on the ice an average of 16:34 per game for North Dakota. While his defensive game has improved slightly, his total lack of shooting ability has scouts questioning his ability to cut it at a higher level.

Nicholas Guy - Guy, the only player with a professional contract, has spent the season in Manchester. After 45 games, he has 4 goals, 14 assists, and a terrible -16 rating. That number is more a product of his team than his play, however, as is evidenced by his 20 shot blocks and his 68 takeaways without a single giveaway. He is playing nearly 23 minutes a game.

Darcy Regier, Jr. - Amazingly enough, Regier is still with Swift Current at this stage of the season. The 2008-eligible goaltender has played 21 games for the Broncos, registering a 10-10-1 record with a 2.70 GAA and .908 save percentage. He has 3 shutouts and was rumored to be considering a long-term commitment to Russell…until he found out that Russell is 34 and would be turning 35 during the commitment.

Dave Trippler - As one might expect for a youngster playing at a high level, Trippler has struggled a bit so far into his Harvard career. He has 3 goals and 0 assists, and 36 penalty minutes so far on the season while plummeting to a -16. For whatever reason, Harvard is playing him over 18 minutes a night. They must really suck.

Andrew Turnwall - The supremely under-aged defenseman has been very solid on the ice for the Spartans in the first half of the school year, though rumors circulate amongst the cucumbers that he spends much of his time off the ice ogling the much more mature and much more feminine scenery that college has to offer. He has registered a goal and 9 assists in 25 games, along with 59 penalty minutes and a +11. To go even further into this remarkable story, he has 46 hits, 15 blocked shots, and 3 fighting majors on the season while playing nearly 17 minutes a game. He is draft eligible in 2008.

I think the birthday thing, he just misses the cut. I was surprised, too.

I'm glad you liked the Russell comment; that might be my favorite thing I've written for this career game so far.

Yeah, but that puts him at age 21 when he's draft eligible...that can't be right.

Good man, I'm doing well. Been crazy busy this spring/summer though as I've been driving from Virginia down to South Carolina just about every other weekend to work on my house in order to put it up for sale. Just got back yesterday and already plans to go back next weekend and the last weekend in July. Hope to have it up on the market by August 1st.

How is the old gang doing? BGM? Duddy (indefinite hiatus?)? Struck? Rammer? how many seasons did you guys keep the game going?
