true they should just retire...

I'd much rather have Gomez then Bozak

You mean Gomez who has already proved himself to be a Top 6 capable centerman and won 2 of these rings you keep speaking of?

Wow. Stalberg > Versteeg within 3 years. Plus Paradis still has a decent upside. Didomineco is a throw in.

This Bill Sweatt guy needs to turn out pretty good for this trade to end up even.

Rings only mean something when current Leafs have won them on other teams. Don't you know anything?

Have you ever heard about Jerry D'amigo ?

you know the guy who won gold with team USA for the world under 18 tournament and was named one of the top 3 player of his team ?

the same guy who won gold with team USA for the world under 20 tournament and was again named one of the top 3 player of his team ?

and the same player who was named the NCAA rookie of the year last year ?

you have no clue whatsoever what you are talking about ( and go ahead and pretend I've said he's he next Crosby or something to try to not look stupid)

Yeah, but even then, he's no match for the next generation Gilmour.

Suglobovs and Hansons sure ended up being great for the Leafs, based on that success they had in the last stretch of the season they played in.

I don't get the ***** everyone's getting on this guy... He was a 6th round pick and doesn't really scream "elite" to me. At the best he becomes a good 2nd-3rd liner

he'll be a futur top six forward, a Steve Downie type of player, and draft order doesn't mean anything, if it did, Louis Leblanc would be a good prospect.

Wow... one year ago, Viktor Stalberg was the next big thing since Ovechkin.

Now he's... a sub-par player.

I don't get it

You calling Leblanc a bad prospect? Considering he'd be your 2nd best prospect i don't know where thats coming from...

People can argue all they want about what's on paper but the game is played on the ice. Fact is Habs have been playing in playoffs while Leafs have been watching it on TV for years. So there is no question which team has been better these last several years.

After tanking so many seasons, Leafs will eventually, one day, do better than Habs I guess. Until then, Leafs fans should keep their idiocies about how Leafs are better than the Habs for themselves.

Potential top 6 player for proven 3rd liner. How does this help the Leafs? I have no idea.

The good thing about tanking, is getting concession players with your first overall picks...

The Leafs could have thrown money at a UFA and would have drafted great prospects with their high picks instead of trading for Kessel.

However, Burke couldn't know he would have that kind of picks.

They had a good end of season while they were already out of the playoffs and they think that it means something...

Versteeg is tougher, better defensively and has achieved much more while being nearly half a year younger.
Only on HF is a guy who has player a very up and down half season going to be better than a younger guy that has had 2 very good seasons and has shown a more rounded game.
As for prospects Sweatt and Paridis have similar value. Dido was a fan fav because of what he has gone through but he is a very long shot to be an impact player in the NHL.

What's genuinely hilarious is that all the guys on here pimping Versteeg (don't get me wrong, I think he's a good player and will help their team) are now saying Stalberg won't be as good as him. Same guys that at the beginning of last season we're saying he will contend for the Calder. Same guys that the year previously thought Kulemin would contend for the Calder.

Jerry D'Amigo? Danny Kristo.

I can go call day with you Leaf fans, it doesn't bother me any. Keep drinking the Burkey Kool-Aid. The fact he wants to trade his best defenseman says it all.

Meh. Leafs empty out the prospect cupboard to get a guy that scored 20 goals last season. With Chicago. And is overpaid to boot. Makes them slightly better short term, but no biggie. Now they have a grand total of two 20-goal scorers on their team. Rejoice.

The leafs traded a 24 year old for a 23 year old that is already a much better player.
And they traded their 10th and 11th ranked prospect and got a guy who will be tied for their 5th ranked prospect.

How did they clear out their prospect cupboard?

Don't know where you get your stats but..

Bozak is 6'1'' 197 lbs
Kulemin is an absolute tank at 6'1'' 225 lbs
and Grabo won't be a Leafs next year you can quote me on that
From what I've heard, it's Kulemin who won't be around next year.
